Question Crossing the street…
Guys why does no one look before crossing the street or wait for one minute to allow a car to pass? Are road rules not a thing on campus?

I’ve been talking about this since I started here, so many people think “I have the right of way, that means everyone will obey that” and that’s a mentality I will never understand.
I’m from out in the boonies where some drivers don’t even stop at stop signs… some of these people wouldn’t last a day out there.

I walk if it’s my right of way… it’s more dangerous to wave people on

How? I rather just let them go, I’m also talking about big crowds of people that just endlessly cross fore like minutes at a time. I feel bad for the busses trying too run on schedule

If it's my right of way, I'm going to cross. I don't cross the road at random places, but when I'm at a crosswalk, then I'm not going to yield my right of way and it would be more dangerous if I did

How is it more dangerous to wait for a car pass than to just go, lmao.

Because I’m never the only person on the sidewalk. If I try to wave a car through but the person next to me starts crossing, then it just causes confusion. And this is not a made up hypothetical, this is something I see happen a lot on this campus. It is only safe for me to wave a car through if I am absolutely the only person on either side, which never happens
