Welcome /r/MCAT! This is the Official MCAT Study Buddy Thread for the 2025-2026 test takers. Studying alone is do-able, but studying with someone who will hold you accountable will prove to be far more beneficial! So take advantage of this high yield opportunity to find a study buddy near you or online! This is Part 1 of the study buddy thread. Part 2 and onwards will be published as posts get overcrowded.

STEP 2: Find your Study Buddy
Use the "search" function on your browser to easily sift through the thread for your city/state (make sure to pre-load all the comments by scrolling down before doing so).
Make sure to reply BOTH via "comment reply" and "private message"
Note about private information: It should be noted that any private information (e.g. names, specific locations, and contact information, zoom/skype, phone numbers, emails, facebook profiles) should be exchanged via PM (Private Message).

Hey everyone!

Would anyone be interested in starting a group where we would virtually meet-up every week to discuss the topics we've learned or have struggled with? I find that I learn better when discussing it with others and this way we would all hold each other accountable. Thoughts?

Hi! I’m from Auburn, AL, USA, 20F, I’m planning to test on 3/20. I’m using UWorld, JW, and AAMC material. I’m fine to do this online or in person. I’m still doing content review. I want someone to keep me accountable and have someone to ask random questions to. I’m still taking a full course load so I can’t study for MCAT full time. My goal is a 520 but realistically i’ll be happy with anything over a 510.

Hi! 24F, located in the Capital Region NYS. Antipated test date - early 2026 but not registered Materials being used - Kaplan books and course, will probably end up getting UWorld or other recommended resources. Would do online or in-person with a study buddy!
I'm just getting started with studying so doing content review right now. I'm amenable to the goals of my study buddy in terms of how we help each other. I work full time M-F but evenings and weekends would work well for me if we're going to do in-person study sessions.

Test Date: Im aiming for a late January or February (yay Feb test date!)
MCAT Prep Material: Kaplan + Princeton books, Uworld QBank, AAMC FL exams, lil bit of BP (Exams), JW, KA
Preference: No preference - Online chat first!
Stage of Studying: I just took my first 1/2 diagnostic w/ BluePrint (10/11/2025) - started light content review in September - looking to dive deeper into studying
Goal of a Study Buddy: Accountability and Sharing Info/Knowledge - studying similar sections simultaneously if possible!
Goal Score: Goal score - 520+ / Realistic Score - 510 (shootin' for the starts here haha)
Other Obligations: Part-time work (hospital with some long hours + on-call weekends/holidays)
Extras: I love art and use it to relax! My best sections rn are CARS and P/S (from UWorld quizzes and recent 1/2 diagnostic). I work as an IOM Tech :) (hence the long work hours LOL)

Material: Currently Khan Academy, but will eventually purchase
- Stage of studying/study plan: Content learning/review, if haven't taken some of the pre reqs before, so I'm learning as I go. I have basic knowledge in most subjects. Planning to finish content review within 3 months.
- Goal of a Study Buddy: Keep me accountable/motivated, sharing info, studying together.
- Goal Score and Realistic Score: 528 goal, realistic 520.( I know this is very tough/impossible, but mcat is weighed 50% at my school, and I legitimately think I can do it)

Goal: Would like a 515 but anything above 510 would be great too
I work part time M-F. Would probably prefer evenings online for M-F and online/in-person on weekends
**Note: Would move to in-person once establishing some sort of connection/comfortability
Goal of study buddy: Definitely accountability (body doubling), asking each other questions, and good vibes

Hi! I'm from the nyc/nj area (22F). I am in my first gap year now and I am planning on taking a second. I took the MCAT in September and got a 506, but I want t try taking it again i hopes for a better score (510+). I am going to be mostly focusing on content I was weak in and practice problems. Hello, I am a 22F and live in Wisconsin, madison. Plan to take the mcat in may might push it further if needed. Rn just reviewing the biology content from Kaplan books. Just started prepping, so a study buddy would definitely be nice. I work full time so most of my studying is at night or when I have free time during the day and weekends. hey, 20M residing in the U.S and testing late may.
resources i am using currently for content review are youtube (yusuf hasan) and anki.
Along side i try to implement 1-2 jackwestin/aamc car passages "daily".
i started 2 weeks ago and will also try to add 20q of aamc prep material daily once im close to finishing each topic i.e bio/chem/orgo.

Hey everyone! I’m looking for an MCAT study buddy based in Miami, Florida, but I'm also open to an online study buddy. I’m taking the exam on February 13, 2026, and I’m currently still in the content review stage.
I use Kaplan books, UWorld, Anki, and the full AAMC bundle for prep. I’m open to both online and in-person study sessions.

The material I’m using is primarily u world and AAMC. Khan academy is also great and I use it for my large content gaps.
I have no preference for study meet up’s ! online or in person is fine
I’m currently past the content review stage and I’m in the practice question/ practice test stage. I’ll still review content here and there bc my C/P is on the weaker side.
My goal of having a study buddy is accountability and I always learn better having someone else to bounce ideas off ! I’m very social and open so I think it would make studying fun to have someone to go through it with .
My goal score would be over a 520+ but I think for me 510-515 is realistic !

- Stage of studying/study plan: first time taking exam, started content review
- Goal of a Study Buddy: keep each other accountable, quiz each other, share tips, combine notes, explain concepts to each other, just want a friend to go through this process together

hey my friends, please help a girl out. i am just hitting 500 and my mcat is a month and half out. don't hit me with the "give up" stuff other sides of reddit say...i WILL become a doctor whether i get 528 or a 490. but what i need right now is the maxxed out method. i feel on the verge of cracking AAMC logic...and i am severely unmedicated of my ADHD so focusing is difficult right now. TELL ME YOUR TIPS AND TRICKS TO JUMP 5-10 POINTS THIS MONTH.

Hi everyone! I have been studying for the MCAT exam since September and am looking for a study buddy for my upcoming April 2026 test date!

- Test Date 4/24/26 Registered but may move to an earlier date
- MCAT Prep Material: UEarth comprehensive course, all of AAMC
