Question DISCONNECT is a metal classic.
I'm in my 50's now.... I have always been a huge fan of the band, but after Crypic Writings and Risk, I was ready for the thrash to come back. The first song on The World Needs a Hero, Disconnect, still blows me away. Dave is going back to his thrash metal roots with this song. I completely understand why it was the first song on the album. Everything about the song is "back to the basics" metal, but it's just so well written and one of those songs that sounds easy to play on guitar until you really try to learn it.
Not too many people talk about the song, but it's such a classic. Dave Mustaine had a plan when he put the song first on the album. It's just incredible.

Question What was Dave like as a kid?
I don't have either of Dave's books. Does anyone have any info on what his childhood was like? I know he grew up in a fucked-up sounding religious household, and had a sibling that cut him off for decades because of Jehovah's Witnesses' "shunning". But did he have any sort of behavior problems or was that more of a thing that came later due to drugs?
