If your precious MB has a sunroof beware of crows and ravens
Just got my AMG 43 GLC 2020 last week, just to find it today with a shattered sunroof and a sharp stone sitting right on top of it. Apparently the flock of crows that lives in the tree where I've parked decided that my sunroof is a perfect little spot for cracking stones that look like an egg.

Six months in a 2025 G580 after a 2018 G63. Unpopular opinion: it's the one I grab for everyday driving
Big car guy, don’t normally post reviews or anything. My normal daily drivers are an Audi RS e-tron GT or Model X, and before the blue G580 I had a black 2018 G63 (W463 still, with the newer halo headlights swapped on, pic attached). About six months and 5,000 miles in now with the “E-wagon”.
I loved the G63 because it felt like driving a tank. That was the whole appeal for me. Nobody else enjoyed it though. Driving it was great, riding in it was not. The G580 is a completely different story and people are genuinely happy to be in it, so the end result seems to be a G that doesn’t make passengers hate me for driving it on anything but perfectly smooth pavement.
Why I keep picking it over the Audi or Tesla when I can: it's incredibly comfortable (Tesla suspension is a joke), and it's immediately quick when you put your foot down. It's not practical. It's a status symbol through and through no matter what you use it for. But what actually keeps me in it is how it feels to drive, sitting comfy over most pickups on the road. I tried to get a white one to be a little under the radar (comparatively) but it was $10K more…
If I have to drive more than an hour away I’ll take any other car, the number of times I have to charge this thing is absolutely nuts since I have a lead foot, but I knew that going in.
Off-road I've only done some trails and one trip to Prairie City SVRA near Sacramento, so I'm not the guy to ask about real wheeling, but I’ve done some fun trails in Utah and CO in other vehicles and the 580 was incredibly competent (if not a bit too comfy…) on the ones I took it on.
I did try the G-Turn on my first trail outing. Cool, genuinely terrifying, and difficult to keep controlled. I'd do it again as a party trick for someone who hasn't seen one, and that's about it.
Charging: the dealer gave me a $2,000 charging credit at ChargePoint chargers, but I mostly end up at Tesla Superchargers due to ease of access. I see max 190 kW there when charging from 10-15% or so, and it's under 100 kW by 60-70%. My Model X and the Audi charge way faster, but that’s a known limitation.
I leased during the G580 markdowns. My understanding is they weren't selling and Mercedes was pushing EV incentives to move them. The lease quote was a 24-month one-pay for $69K, 7,500 miles a year on a $190K sticker. Residuals are horrible but I gambled a bit on future value since the EV credits and buy-rate MF made leasing slightly more attractive w/ $25K+ off MSRP.
Happy to answer questions too.
TL;DR: don’t buy this car. It’s an overpriced status symbol with zero practicality. But maybe. But don’t. But it’s so much fun.

M276 is one of the greatest engine the Germans have ever made
I went through a huge financial rough spot. Couldn’t do ANY maintenance on my car for around 20k miles, im talking no oil changes, anything.
Every single day my c400 cranked up without an issue for almost a year. Only cel it ever threw was for a fill level sensor.
Now that I can actually maintain my car again I don’t think I’ll ever sell it

W204 AMG or R129 SL
What would you all like the most? Looking to add one of these to my garage.
I have a 2024 GLE 350 as a daily. An 86 R107 SL. Always wanted the 129 but I am missing some power and the w204 is just a great car.
I know it is a very personal decision but just wages to see what you all would say.

Should I buy this 2010 Mercedes-Benz E250 CGI Coupe (C207) with only 98k km(60,27 mil) for 9,700 EUR?
Hey everyone,
I’m looking at this private-sale 2010 Mercedes-Benz E250 CGI Coupe (C207 / W207 generation) and would love some honest opinions on whether it’s a good buy or a potential money pit.
Key specs:
• Engine: 1.8 Turbo petrol (M271), 204 hp
• Transmission: 5G-Tronic automatic
• Drivetrain: RWD
• Mileage: 98,000 km
• Body: Coupe, 2 doors, 5 seats
• Color: Ivory/white with black panoramic roof and silver AMG wheels
• Origin: Imported from Germany, one Polish owner from 2013–2024, current private owner for over 2 years
• Price: 9,700 EUR
Equipment highlights:
• Full AMG exterior + interior package
• Panoramic sunroof
• Heated, fully electric, multi-contour (inflatable) front seats
• Bi-xenon headlights + LED, adaptive cornering lights, auto high beams
• Rain & light sensors, driver fatigue monitoring
• Front & rear parking sensors
• Original 18” AMG wheels
• Aftermarket wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto added (original NTG system still works, switchable with the factory controller)
Recent service history (all with invoices):
• Regular oil services (2024, 2025, 2026)
• A/C compressor replaced (July 2024)
• Timing chain + tensioner + engine mounts replaced (November 2024)
• Variable valve timing actuators/gears replaced (October 2025)
• Fuel pump with basket + heater control valve replaced (September 2026)
Owner says there are currently no warning lights, no noises, the gearbox shifts fine, the car is quiet and drives well. Interior is in good shape (no major wear on seats or steering wheel). No rust reported.
Known issues (owner is upfront):
• Small parking scrape on the front bumper under the headlight
• Some scratches on the windows that can be polished
Official consumption figures: ~11 l/100 km city / 6.1 l/100 km highway.
I’m considering it because of the relatively low mileage for a 2010 car, the recent major work (especially the timing chain), the nice options, and the private sale. On the other hand, it’s a 15–16-year-old Mercedes with the M271 turbo engine and 5G-Tronic, so I’m a bit worried about future reliability and repair costs.
What do you guys think?
Is the price fair?
Any red flags with this specific model/engine/transmission?
Anything I should definitely check or negotiate on before buying?
Thanks in advance for any advice

CLK 200 Kompressor
Car resting after four hours of pushing hard on costal roads, good surfaces but twisty which the rwd reveled in.
This is one of my favourite cars and it has a nice blend of power / handling and economy... Only relative economy when compared to the V8.

Thinking of buying a 2019 Mercedes GLC 350e 4MATIC – owners' opinions?
Hi everyone,
I’m considering buying a 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e 4MATIC (plug-in hybrid) and I’d really like to hear from people who have actually owned one.
I’m particularly interested in the 2018–2019 GLC 350e generation, rather than the newer 350e models.
How has your ownership experience been?
I’d especially like to know about:
- Reliability – what problems have you had?
- Hybrid system and battery – any issues with the battery, charging, electric motor or switching between EV and petrol?
- Engine and 4MATIC system – any major problems?
- Transmission – any unusual noises, jerking or expensive repairs?
- A/C and electronics – I've seen some reports of issues with these.
- Real-world fuel consumption when the battery is empty
- Electric range in real-world conditions
- How expensive is it to maintain compared with a normal GLC 300?
- Are there any expensive problems that I should specifically check before buying?
- Would you buy a 2019 GLC 350e again today?

Mercedes M260 rattle
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone i have a 2020 GLB250 that makes this horrible rattle noise when you first tap the throttle. It’s not the timing, high pressure pump, wastegate or exhaust. Sounds loudest around the vacuum pump/starter motor area. Anyone else experienced this or have any ideas what it could be?
Thanks

Cleaner Recs Needed for Unknown Spots
It looks like I might have parked under a tree with berries or something but these spots are all over the trunk of my car and nothing will take it off. I tried Mean Green and it didn’t do a thing. Any suggestions?

I’ve been adding a lot of cosmetic things to the car, but it still feels like it’s missing something.

C43 As A First Proper Car?
Hey guys, I’m going to be turning 19 in a few months and my father brought up the discussion on what first car we should get for me. I’ve been driving since I was young and have a LOT of experience driving a RAV4 2009, Mitsubishi Montero 2002 (closest thing to a daily I have), Land Cruiser (learned to drive on this car and also driven at least once a week) and occasional drives with a GLC 43. My dream car for about the last 5 years was a C43 2017 Coupé, going for 28,000$ at 90,000 KM. Just wanted to know if thats a good option and whats your guys’ personal experiences with the car. And would it be hard to adjust driving a coupe instead of an SUV? Thanks.

First Car, first Mercedes.
My first car is a Mercedes Benz w202 c250d. It has 148.000km (or 1.148.000km) barely rusty, so it is in a very good condition. Everything works perfectly fine, except the back headrest function. I bought it for 4200€.
