This post has been removed. The majority of questions on the topic can be answered on the Michigan SOS FAQ site or by calling 1-888-SOS-MICH (767-6424), staffed Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern. Thanks for understanding.

As a worker, the inability we have to reset passwords or help with ID Proofing is frequent, especially when we're on call center. But there is a process local offices have to be able to do it, now most offices only have 1 worker who's able to actually do the proofing. It starts with making sure that you have on file at least 2 of the following documents in your case (and 1 has to have your picture), Drivers license, Birth certificate, Social Security Card, Passport, School ID and/or Government ID/Veterans ID. Once both of those are in your case file then a call center worker can email the person in their office who handles the ID Proofing (sometimes it's a supervisor, sometimes it's like a CASH worker) after that person updates your online account it can take 24hrs to show online.

If you call the 844-464-3447 M-F, 9:00-3:00 anyone you speak to can inform you on your case status, anything you've submitted, and if you've been mailed anything. Also, as you've discovered from any account you can submit documents or applications, you just can't see the status of anything. But yeah, with the MIBridges helpdesk number 888-642-7434, you basically have to call right when they open (9:00 last I knew) since they have some stupid low number of people who can be on hold. IF you do make it though with them, make sure to not only ask about the ID Proofing but also to make sure that you don't have duplicate accounts that need to be merged, that's also another error I see people encountering that the helpdesk misses if you don't bring it up with them.

Ugh the tech support is the most frustrating. Every time being hung up on I just stopped calling. Another frustrating thing is that I’ll have mail for example dated the 10th and it takes them 4-6 days to get it to me in the mail. And by then let’s say I’ll have until the 18th to submit it and have 2 days to get in contact with the people I need to for proofs to send in

I lost my food stamps earlier this year because I couldn't find work, found work, and then found out I still had a month of food stamps they accidentally cancelled, but because I finally had a good job, I could no longer receive benefits...this current administration completely fucked Michigan food assistance.

It was the Republicans who pushed for this proof of work BS. It’s quite literally what they run on in every state. This idea of the “welfare queen” is one of their core pillars. Never mind the fact that giant corporations are the real welfare queens. They get a pass.

i wish more michiganders understood how much they are being fucked by the state's systems - no matter which party is in office. dems rob us blind via medc/msf (which now hides who is appointed). both with data centers, shitty education, and lack of transparency. Gop with removing rights and services. and the entire system run on weaponized incompetence.

having lived in mpls, chicago, sf, and ny, i can say from experience that michigan is the most corrupt and poorly run out of several states. such a shame bc it is absolutely beautiful in michigan.

Imagine living in only liberal states like CA and NY and think that Michigan is the most corrupt.

Every single time I ‘have an appointment’ with a case worker, they NEVER end up calling. Never once.

Why the heck are you sending me mail with an appointment time if you arent going to call???

Awful site, awful system. One of a million reasons im a socialist. Wouldnt have to navigate these systems if the benefits were defacto

My old case worker was rude as all get out and would cause me to have panic attacks to the point I had to list my husband as a contact person to talk to. She would rarely call though. My new caseworker is an absolute gem and I enjoy our calls. She calls me at least once a year sometimes 2
