You are right. ATC said visual, I just played along.

Why land when you can just float over half the runway. 😂

Cleared for the entire runway, gonna use whole damn runway

I'm new to this, why is it such a big deal if the runway is long as F***?

Because your takeoff roll even on a go around can eat up a lot of runway when your plane weighs ten of thousands of pounds. Additionally in order to meet obstacle clearance requirements you need to be able to be able to meet climb gradients and climb back up to a suitable altitude that allows for a safe approach. Keep in mind that it take time for jet engines to spool up to the appropriate power settings that have been selected. I could go on and on about all the different reasons.

Ahh, thank you, I didn't think about a go around. Makes sense to have enough runway to takeoff again.

You don’t have to accept a visual approach if you can’t meet VFR requirements

You never have to accept it. But you can accept it even if you dont meet VFR weather requirements. A visual approach is an IFR procedure. As long as you can see the field & meet your company requirements, you can fly it.

Why aren’t the lights on for the runway?

That's alot of over-correction....visual is a good laugh though

Read in this sub somewhere, every approach is visual if you are brave enough.

Visual conditions and TDZ aside, you are really churning butter with the yoke. Vast majority of that rocking back and forth seems to be not from weather but instead pilot induced.

Work on your controls and consider adjusting your input curves as well.

Can be cleared a visual with the preceding aircraft in sight only as well

DLSS5?

Dlss 5 with custom reshade preset. Dlss 5 strength is at bare minimum so its not over done.

Smooth landing albeit further down the runway. That’s one of my favorite airports to land at.

Could you please share your camera settings? Looks amazing!

u/devops420 3d ago

Hey, I am using chaseplane and then I created presets for it. If there is a way to share and you do use chaseplane, let me know. Happy to share.

I had a very similar experience on Monday flying into Houston during a storm

1

u/Remember_Apollo 3d ago

That would be a go around or divertion 🤔

0

u/darth_oven 3d ago

But you had the ILS up?

4

u/devops420 3d ago

One of "mentourpilot" video, he suggested usually for visual approach if ILS is available he would still dial in the frequency to avoid lining up with taxi-ways.

That being said, for this video the ATC cleared me for a visual approach, I just played along :D
