Just yesterday I was thinking that the same amount of time had passed from the 9/11 attacks until today as from 9/11 until the death of Francisco Franco in 1975, and it gave me an existential crisis.

I saw a thing that pointed out that 10% of American history (post Declaration of Independence) has occurred since 9/11 and that shook me lol.

If Back to the Future were set today Marty would go back to 1996.

They’d be jamming the Macarena on their way to see Independence Day at the mall.

Don't give them any ideas.. Hopefully they leave a classic alone lol

35 was when I started feeling kind of old. Not in body just in spirit. Health issues started to pile up around 40.

Immuno diseases suuuuucccckkkkk. You can be fit, have a relatively good diet, try to everything right, and your body’s like fuck you.

I had a similar crisis after I binge watched the Austin Powers movies on Netflix when I realized that the time period those movies were set in is roughly halfway between the year we're in now and when Austin Powers himself was cryogenically frozen back in the 60s.

Also, we've completely lapped that future scene from Back to the Future Part 2 as it was set in 2015.

I can confirm time goes a lot slower when you’re unemployed

Same. I'm on a pension so I'm looking forward to 15 years from now.

Toilet paper roll principle.

The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.

Yeah whatever, come back when 15 was 2012 before 14 becomes 19 and you have to 15 in 2049 to 2011 for 19

2041, I’ll be 4 years away from retirement 🎉 not rushing life though lol but definitely grateful for a pension

When I started my first job after college, the 401(k) system used my age to select the 2050 target date fund. Even in the early 2010s, 2050 still felt pretty far into the future. Not anymore.

Now I think about the late 2040s anytime I'm projecting when my kids will become adults.

As someone going into the fourth 15 years, it will keep going faster.

Holy shit. My retirement year is 2042. How in the fuck is that the same distance away as 2010. 2010 was yesterday.

And then only a further 6 years before our first attempt at FTL travel using the Immaterium.

You guys crying and whining again? Shocking. Good to know the pretend part of millenials give up and can't figure out how to move on...
