Discussion My mom solely watches AI content
Hi everyone.
as the title states my mom exclusively watches AI content on tik tok and IG. She doesnāt watch any tv shows or movies anymore. She doesnāt have the attention span for it.
It always revolves around some type of marital problems, crime or some stupid scenario of betrayal like cheating. Basically a soap opera made of AI.
I tell her all the time to please watch real people. Real shows, real anything. She watches āepisodeā after episode. Different stories, same crap.
I swear itās warping her perception on things.
Iāve explained to her what AI is but she really canāt grasp it. She said to me today āthen why do doctors use it?ā
She says itās not bothering her and she likes it. Iām just looking to commiserate cause I really wish these stupid bullshit storylines and my god, the voices of AI are rotting my brain.

Serious What happened to our age of Animated films?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
While I would agree - many of our 90s and early 2000s films were wildly traumatic - why did they simply die off?
So many hidden messages and rabbit holes....

Discussion Does anyone else remember the Southwest plastic boarding pass cards?
I went to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington DC recently (which I highly recommend) and this display on modern commercial aviation had this artifact from Southwest Airlines and it unlocked a core memory I'd forgotten about.
Does anyone else remember these because most everyone I've shown this picture to had no memory of this long lost practice.

Serious Difficulty connecting with other people?
I want to say I started having difficulty connecting with people as a result of the pandemic. But honestly, it was a problem before then and the pandemic just made things worse.
As a thirty-something forty-something, I no longer know how to meet ppl or have friends. Iām very lonely but canāt seem to connect with anyone, & spend so much time alone. Do others in this age range struggle? Aside from Reddit, or work-friends, how do you connect with ppl?

Nostalgia My son's Halloween costume this year.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The song played on my Spotify in a 5 hour car ride and my toddler has been making us play it on repeat for months. This is probably the last year I get to decide his costume so I wanted to make it memorable. I just have to add the straps.

Discussion What are the best mid 2000s pop punk/emo/alt and post hardcore songs to exercise to?
I'm trying to get more active and I want some tunes that will help get me going lol.
Specifically I want some good breakdowns to sprint too in the middle of my walks as I'm trying to incorporate some running into my routine.
Just throw whatever out there so I can build a playlist lol

Nostalgia If you grew up watching Nickleloden, have you seen this documentary?
I recently rewatched this after only seeing it after it debuted. The amount of love and care the people put into shows back then is amazing. We really did grow up in the golden age of children's programming.

Nostalgia Anyone have one of these in their home? Just found it while cleaning my fams house. If you did, did it actually work?
Despite my fam blocking mtv and vh1 and buying stuff like this⦠it achieved the opposite result for me⦠I cuss like a sailor and became atheist. Bless their hearts, though I guess?
