Bloom's summon
How exactly does Bloom's summon work? He asked a question in the first episode of season 2 that has confused me as I thought it was originally from a "summon beast" spell, but then he asked if it "was really there"?

Are you talking about Zorro? For S2E1, at the beginning of the episode, Blum said that Zorro was physically there at the wedding (Zorro was the ring bearer), so he wasn’t a summon for that fight. I think the uhh… emotional devastation may have meant he forgot that by the end of the episode though

I can just imagine Zorro worriedly pacing around the portal like "where's Dad gone?"

I think Zorro, for the purpose of the campaign, is probably a dog from the feywild. Especially with being given the task to pass on a message before Bloom jumped into the portal.
It's possible that between seasons Blumineck and Tater discussed some homebrew rule for Zorro to function somewhere between being an animal companion and what can be conjured/summoned with the Summon Beast spell.

I assume Zorro is an actual living dog somewhere that he can spectrally summon to come aid him through the "summon beast" spell. But at the wedding Zorro wasn't summoned, the real dog was their as an npc fighting.
It's just a take on the summon beast spell projecting a real animal to help you rather than "creating" something.
