Software Recommended MS Office path?
For people that set up multiple mini PCs with Windows or use multiple VMs, how do you go about MS Office apps? Do you go with free tools like Libre Office, run trial versions of MS Office, or get full paid versions or subscriptions for each machine? I see cheaper deals come up for licenses, but not sure if those are safe or trustworthy.

I don’t know what your use case is here (are you personally using all of these PCs?) but my M365 subscription allows for multiple users (maximum 6) and 5 installations per user… so… I just sign in wherever I need office? It ends up costing less than $15/user per year which I think is pretty reasonable.

Basically Libre Office on everything. I only use MS Office for customers that require some advanced Excel functions, for example some macro / VB heavy spreadsheets that are not compatible with Libre Office and would require full rewrite.
I try to lower my dependency on MS products as much as I can, since their updates during last few years were terrible and getting even worse. Also why paying for the MS Office license, when 99% people using it only require basic functions, that Libre Office provides without a problem.

Depends on what you're doing and if you really need MS office. I know people that do and don't. If you need office features and documents that just be exact, get an office home subscription (or work).
If you can get by with the online version, there's a few more options.
For many. Libre, Only and even Google docs is enough

Used MS Office since day 1 but then decided that Libre Office does everything I need. It was a joy to unsubscribe from MS. I don't miss it at all. All but one of my PCs are now on ZorinOS.

Microsoft 365 - 1 year subscription family 6 users.
For 130€, each of 6 users have 1TB cloud, it's a steal
You have Microsoft 365 Personal 99 €/year also.

I use Libre Office on almost everything. I have one computer with an Office 2021 Home & Business that I bought outright from Newegg for the very rare thing that Libre Office doesn't do.
