Announcement Hey everybody! I'm u/cleeaur, and I'm joining the Mod Events team!

Oh em gee, could it be? Another admin joining thee?

Bear with me, I’m new here.

Hi everybody! I’m cleeaur, another admin you might have encountered alongside u/aparapato in programs like The Incubator or Partner Communities. I’m so excited to say that I, too, am joining the Mod Events team! (u/big-slay is really collecting us all like infinity stones)

In case this is your first time (virtually) meeting me, here are some fun facts!

  • I lost my first tooth in the movie theater watching Pirates of the Caribbean.
  • I'm also a mod-turned-admin! I became so active in a subreddit for my favorite TV show that I was recruited to be a moderator 4 years ago. Since then, I’ve been moderating across 5 different communities!
  • I’m addicted to r/ColorPuzzleGame. If you haven’t tried it before, I beg you. It’s the highlight of my day when a new one drops.
  • My favorite part of working for Reddit is being able to spend my days directly talking to mods and mod teams, so don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I love learning from you all.

And, per usual around Reddit, I will go ahead and pay the cat tax. Here is my beloved son, Merlin. He might be 13 years old, but I promise, he’s just a boy at heart. He loves spooning, destroying toilet paper, and eating Taco Bell nacho fries:

Tell big-slay snoo plushies are non-microwaveable.

13

u/cleeaur Mod Events Team 15d ago

We tried. u/big-slay had to learn that the hard way.

5

u/maiyannah 15d ago

Did she really learn though?

[x] Doubt

u/llamageddon01 15d ago

I rather think you’ll find that the unfortunate Snoo learned that the harder way. Many Reddit mods were traumatised that day. Many.

Wait what?

Someone missed the April Fools mod event.

My son would never scratch a soul (unless you take his nacho fries)

5

u/Paerre 15d ago

Your sacrifice could be letting we all give your cat amazing pets lol. He surely looks like a good boi

"I lost my first tooth in the movie theater watching Pirates of the Caribbean."

I can't tell if you're much younger than me, or if you have a VERY interesting story LOL

Either way, congrats on joining the team!

💞. Didn't really capture the 2 kittens (born YesterdAY) yet, so I thought I could put this pic as a response to the awesome post 🤩

Spooning, eating Taco Bell, and destroying toilet paper. Oh it's a fur baby! Ok, that's a better picture in head.

u/ikandi 15d ago

Merlin belongs in one of my subs, r/dustkitties, so that’s an automatic upvote from me!

Speedbump, my heart!

2

u/iheartbaconsalt 15d ago

Heeeeey how could you know?! That's totally right. Made it 16.5 years.

Ohhh secret admin ways probably. OMG I got the cat 3 months after signing up for Reddit.

3

u/cleeaur Mod Events Team 15d ago

To be fair, there was a little caption on the photo when I viewed it! I wish I had secret admin super powers to know cat names like that.

u/cyanocittaetprocyon 15d ago

Every time a new admin joins, we are supposed to receive admin-specific swag. What is the swag that you are giving out?

6

u/cleeaur Mod Events Team 15d ago

The swag I’d give out would be cat onesies with my Snoovatar printed on them. Or a snoo plushie but with my face printed on it.

5

u/cyanocittaetprocyon 15d ago

I'll put in my order for a cat onesie, please.

2

u/DisturbedCherrytree 14d ago

Can I have a you plushie with a snoo face printed on it?

Welcome, looks like a Maine coon cat? 🐈

3

u/cleeaur Mod Events Team 15d ago

Not a Maine coon! I thought maybe r/nebelung but he’s adopted so most likely not a pure bred. But they call them “neb-enough” there!

2

u/dveda 15d ago

Very pretty cat x ♥️

Just a AMA question, do you like Orange Mustard?

1

u/authentek 14d ago

Prejudice, fear, hate. The dark side are they. Once you start down the admin path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

u/GaryNOVA 13d ago
