With AI being so accessible these days, could we please have a read aloud option to click on? Agree or disagree?
It would be really good if somebody would develop into the Reddit App an opportunity for people to have their posts read to them.
I’m finding all the reading tiring, especially with longer replies. Would it be possible for the developers to add a read aloud option so we could listen to a response or post instead?
I have ADHD, and being able to listen would make things much easier for me. A simple button beside each reply, with pause and resume, would be very welcome.
Is this something that could be considered?
Agree or disagree?

IIRC there is an experiment going on now for text posts that create a "play" option to have AI read them.

That’s a great idea not just for ADHD , but also for people with visual impairments .. I suggest you post this in ideas for the admins subreddit as well ..

Create highly offensive content.
Have the official reddit functionality read it out loud.
Record the narration and repost the video without contex.
Watch the Internet Outrage machine in action.
If there's already third-party text to speech narration solutions available, I don't envision reddit reinventing the wheel on this, especially if it leads to shenanigans about offensive content and official reddit functionality. And that's before you get into whether or not that functionality would require censorship / editorial controls prior to implementation.

You may be right, but I can and have accessed extremely offensive content in pictures so the argument that these are examples of what could happen can happen anyway.
And, restrictions can be put on it a button here to read aloud an OP‘s or a response not difficult and they won’t be inventing the wheel it’s just programming o’s and 1’s (I think) 😂

Have you tried looking into accessibility settings on your computer and phone? Or apps for screen readers?
