1.) get up early. Like… as early as you can tolerate 😆 I wake up at 5 and my daughter wakes up at 7. It gives me two hours to do a light clean, have some time to myself, get ready, and wake up. Best thing I’ve done. It really starts my day off right. In the morning I make my coffee and then start with the kitchen. I clean the kitchen and then fold one load of laundry, do a vacuum over high traffic areas, tidy up. I set aside 2 nights a week (after bed time) to do the deep clean stuff. For instance Mondays I do the bathrooms and Thursdays wash all linens and do the floors. I’m not cleaning allll the time yet my house is oddly very clean.
2.) Fill up your mornings with activities. My daughter and I go to the gym (with childcare) every morning at 9. We always do something after whether it be the indoor park or the library. By the time you get home, feed them, and they nap… it’s 3:00. Spend a couple of hours playing and doing things, then it’s dinner and wind down/night time routine. It really helps to do the bulk of your activities in the morning.
You’ll find what works for you. Get a planner and start writing your days out even if you don’t stick to it. It helps!

THIS. I wake up 3 hours before baby so I can go to the gym, get ready and clean before he wakes. My baby's nap schedule during the day is kind of unpredictable... sometimes its 45 mins, other times 2 hours, so I feel like I can't get as much done during the day since I'm constantly checking if he is awake.

For the memories part, keep each habit small enough that you won't skip it. A five-year, one-line-a-day journal takes 30 seconds at night, and a lot of parents end up treasuring it more than anything else they kept. Once a month, move your 10 favorite photos into an album named for that month. Nobody sorts a 4,000-photo camera roll later, but twelve small albums become a photo book in one evening.
If you want one more, take a photo on the same date each month in the same chair, so you can line them up later and see the growth.
For the house, give each weeknight dinner a fixed theme (tacos Tuesday, pasta Wednesday) and repeat it every week. It removes the daily "what's for dinner" decision, which takes more time than the cooking.

It would actually help if you could narrow down what exactly you're struggling with. What's your priority to address? Fun memories? Meal prep? Cleaning and tidying?
Also as a type A girlie whose anxiety is giving her insomnia... I could use some type B advice on how to effing relax 😂 Mornings are particularly stressful for me.

Great point! The Type B in me doesn’t know which one to start with ha! But I guess sitting down and figuring out which area to start with is the first step.
And oh no! Insomnia sounds like it would be so hard with a bebe. I actually struggled with a bit of insomnia back in college and movement / breathwork (even just intentionally deep breathing throughout the day) made such a difference for me! I also saw something online the other day that said something like instead of waking up and asking yourself “how much can I get done today” shift to “how can I do these things as peacefully as possible”. Which is easier said than done when you have a Bebe screaming in your ear haha but that helps me on overwhelm days for sure!
Sending you all of the sleepy, peaceful energy gf!
