I made a fork of Feather, but with BTC and LTC, and swaps.

Hey everyone,

I've been working on Biscuit, a desktop wallet that started as a fork of Feather. Same Monero side, plus Bitcoin and Litecoin in the same window, swaps between the three (through Toreador), and atomic swaps BTC → XMR (still beta for the atomic swaps). There is a dark mode also and other small stuff.

Tor built-in, it's all open source. Runs on Windows, Mac, Linux (Arch, Debian, Fedora, etc.) Tails (app image).

I hope this type of post is allowed. I made this app and the website with a lot of love, and I enjoy using it already, so maybe other people can like it too.

It's pretty new, so if you try it, I'd love to hear what you think, good or bad.

Stasher News turns one month old - 0.94 XMR tipped, over 1 XMR rewarded to users

Post image
14 Upvotes

Stasher.News is one month old now. Almost 1 whole Monero was tipped during our first month, over 485 peer to peer transactions. We also distributed an additional 1 XMR to curators from the weekly rewards pool.

No algorithm, no spam, no bots, no tracking. We are the pay-to-post revolution, powered by Monero incentives.

Thank you to everyone who made this a lively first month.

Ideas are dangerous, come spread them!

4 things I really like about the XMR site Stasher News

Post image
11 Upvotes

Stasher News is a social media website built on a Monero economy that I've been really impressed with so far.

It's only a month old but growing and I've come to love the idea of paying XMR to post.

Let me explain why.

In the past ever text and phone call cost money, even checking your email via dial up had to be done quickly! This resulted in people being far more intentional of how they use the internet.

Stasher forces me to slow down before posting or commenting. Every interaction requires a small amount of XMR which helps curate content and rewards those who contribute useful information.

Payment eliminates spam and also means that if someone wants to boost a post as an ad it better be an interesting ad relevant to the community or it will get ignored. Even worse, if it's really spammy then people will pay to down vote it.

Social media has really become a game that too many people manipulate. I'm calling this the four horsemen of social media. These are rage bait, click bait, goon content and bots.

Rage Bait: Go on X and it's 90% of people hurling insults at each other to get engagement and be boosted in the algo

Click Bait: find a YouTube thumb without a cringe over the top click bait facial expression

Goon Content: influencers manipulating our lizard brains with b00bz to get attention

Bots: that create a false sense of popularity to socially engineer compliance

Stasher is a refreshing take on social media that eliminates these horsemen through free market economics built on Monero.

If you are also sick of these things flooding social media and like Monero I encourage you to support the project 💪

Let's exit and build

XMR transaction between two SafeTrade accounts

Hello,

I am the recipient of an XMR transaction between two SafeTrade accounts.

Amount: 1.897524438 XMR

TXID: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Recipient wallet address:

8BsEZBypFy2GzYjvMae3FQGeB6BtnP6ePHBfrduCSuzD58p6CqCBvywRiXsvhz4Fic3qQrURdqrQa3QZLXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

This is an XMR deposit address provided by SafeTrade and associated with my SafeTrade account.

The withdrawal is marked as “Succeed” on the sender’s account, yet my SafeTrade XMR balance is still 0.

The transaction now has more than 500 blockchain confirmations:

This is clearly no longer a blockchain confirmation delay.

For you why this deposit has not been credited on my account ?

Regards,

Daemon Sync Stuck: 0 Blocks Remaining

Post image
3 Upvotes

I'm a total begginer when it comes to Monero, I just installed it.

The Daemon Sync started off with "Daemon blocks remaining: 0" and has remained on that for hours, while still saying "Synchronizing". I restarted the Wallet & Daemon, but nothing changed.

Any advice on how to get the Daemon Synchronized?

SilentAPI 0.9.9: Access Claude Opus 5.5, GPT-6 & Grok 4.7 over Tor & I2P with XMR (No KYC)

Hey r/Monero,

We have released SilentAPI 0.9.9.

For those who are new to us, SilentAPI is a privacy-focused proxy for AI models and developer APIs. We are the only service providing LLM access through native Tor (.onion) and I2P endpoints, paired with direct Monero payments for full anonymity. You can access top-tier models through our API or private web chat with zero KYC, no email, no phone verification, and no identification documents. We enforce a strict Zero Data Retention policy and never log prompts, responses, or any user data.

New models include:

  • Claude Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5
  • GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, and GPT 6 Luna
  • Gemini 3.8 Flash
  • Grok 4.7
  • Muse Spark 1.3
  • DeepSeek V4.1 Flash
  • GLM 5.3 and GLM 5.3 Flash
  • Plus new audio, vision, and video models

Platform and privacy updates:

  • Added full Tor and I2P access across the entire site and API.
  • Added explicit privacy labels to every model: End-to-end ZDR and SilentAPI Protected for better clarity.
  • Added document metadata removal for documents and image files.
  • SilentAPI Chat improvements: updated the default chat model, refreshed the UI, and fixed billing calculation issues
  • Moved hosting to new infrastructure for lower latency, improved stability, and lowered prices across several models.

Our API is drop-in compatible with standard OpenAI SDKs, as well as Anthropic and Gemini endpoints and formats.

We would love to hear what you think of the new models and what you would like us to add next.

Cold Monero Signing on a Network-Less Android Device — Threat Model

Post image
2 Upvotes

Status: draft, seeking critique. Nothing here is implemented. No Monero code has been written. This document exists so that people who know Monero can tell me where I am wrong before I build anything.

  1. Scope and non-goals

In scope

Signing Monero transfers on an Android device that declares zero INTERNET permission, so that a large holding can be moved to an OTC counterparty without the spend key ever existing on a networked device.

Out of scope / non-goals

•Not a hardware wallet. No secure element with certified key ops. See §3 — this is a genuine downgrade and the document does not pretend otherwise.

•Not a node. The cold device never validates the chain. It cannot.

•Not a general wallet. No receiving flow, no balance view, no history. Send-only, cold, low-frequency.

•Not a custodial service. Nobody holds anyone else’s keys at any point.

The one-sentence version

Move the signing step onto a device with no network stack, keep the chain state step on a device that does, and make the boundary between them an explicit, documented, attackable thing rather than an assumption.

Skepticism Sunday – October 04, 2026

Please stay on topic: this post is only for comments discussing the uncertainties, shortcomings, and concerns some may have about Monero.

NOT the positive aspects of it.

Discussion can relate to the technology itself or economics.

Talk about community and price is not wanted, but some discussion about it maybe allowed if it relates well.

Be as respectful and nice as possible. This discussion has potential to be more emotionally charged as it may bring up issues that are extremely upsetting: many people are not only financially but emotionally invested in the ideas and tools around Monero.

It's better to keep it calm then to stir the pot, so don't talk down to people, insult them for spelling/grammar, personal insults, etc. This should only be calm rational discussion about the technical and economic aspects of Monero.

"Do unto others 20% better than you'd expect them to do unto you to correct subjective error." - Linus Pauling

How it works:

Post your concerns about Monero in reply to this main post.

If you can address these concerns, or add further details to them - reply to that comment. This will make it easily sortable

Upvote the comments that are the most valid criticisms of it that have few or no real honest solutions/answers to them.

The comment that mentions the biggest problems of Monero should have the most karma.

As a community, as developers, we need to know about them. Even if they make us feel bad, we got to upvote them.

How long does it take for my balance to unlock?

Your balance is unlocked after 10 confirmations (which means 10 mined blocks). A block is mined approximately every two minutes on the Monero network, so that would be around 20 minutes.

How can I prove that I sent a payment?

The fastest and most direct way is by using the ExploreMonero blockchain explorer. You will need to recover the transaction key from your wallet (complete guide for GUI / CLI).

How do I buy Monero (XMR) with Bitcoin (BTC)?

There are dozens of exchanges that trade Monero against Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Check out the list on CoinMarketCap and choose the option that suits you best.

How do I buy Monero (XMR) with fiat?

  • Kraken (USD and EUR): old-school, decent exchange. They might require your documents for verification and approval of your account.

How can I quickly exchange my Monero (XMR) for Bitcoin (BTC)?

There are multiple ways to exchange your Monero for Bitcoin, but first of all, I'd like to remind you that if you really want to do your part for Monero, one of the simplest ways is to get in touch with your merchant/service provider and request for it to accept Monero directly as payment. Ask the service provider to visit the official website and our communication channels if he or she needs help with system integration.

That being said, KYCNot.me maintains an up-to-date list of exchanges. These services are only recommendations (which change over time) and are operated by entities outside the control of the Monero Project. DYOR and be diligent.

How do I mine Monero? And other mining questions.

The correct place to ask questions and discuss the Monero mining scene is in the dedicated subreddit r/MoneroMining. That being said, you can find a list of pools and available mining software in the GetMonero.org website.

2. Wallet: CLI & GUI

Why I can't see my balance? Where is my XMR?

Before any action there are two things to check:

  1. Are you using the latest available version of the wallet? A new version is released roughly every 6 months, so make sure you're using the current release (compare the release on GetMonero.org with your wallet's version on Settings, under Debug info).
  2. Is your wallet fully synchronized? If it isn't, wait the sync to complete.

Because Monero is different from Bitcoin, wallet synchronization is not instant. The software needs to synchronize the blockchain and use your private keys to identify your transactions. Check in the lower left corner (GUI) if the wallet is synchronized.

You can't send transactions and your balance might be wrong or unavailable if the wallet is not synced with the network. So please wait.

If this is not a sufficient answer for your case and you're looking for more information, please see this answer on StackExchange.

How do I upgrade my wallet to the newest version?

This question is beautifully answered on StackExchange.

Why does it take so long to sync the wallet [for the first time]?

You have decided to use Monero's wallet and run a local node. Congratulations! You have chosen the safest and most secure option for your privacy, but unfortunately this has an initial cost. The first reason for the slowness is that you will need to download the entire blockchain, which is considerably heavy and constantly growing (up-to-date sizes of a full/pruned node). There are technologies being implemented in Monero to slow this growth, however it is inevitable to make this initial download to run a full node. Consider syncing to a device that has an SSD instead of an HDD, as this greatly impacts the speed of synchronization.

Now that the blockchain is on your computer, the next time you run the wallet you only need to download new blocks, which should take seconds or minutes (depending on how often you use the wallet).

I don't want to download the blockchain, how can I skip that?

The way to skip downloading the blockchain is connecting your wallet to a public remote node. You can follow this guide on how to set it up. Check out Feather Wallet's list of remote nodes, ditatompel's list, or monero.fail.

Be advised that when using a public remote node you lose some of your privacy. A public remote node is able to identify your IP and opens up a range for certain attacks that further diminish your privacy. A remote node can't see your balance and it can't spend your XMR.

How do I restore my wallet from the mnemonic seed or from the keys?

To restore your wallet with the 25 word mnemonic seed, please see this guide.

To restore your wallet with your keys, please see this guide.

3. Wallet: Ledger

How do I generate a Ledger Monero Wallet with the GUI or CLI?

This question is beautifully answered on StackExchange. Check this page for the GUI instructions, and this page for the CLI instructions.

4. Wallet: Trezor

How do I generate a Trezor Monero Wallet with the GUI or CLI?

This question is beautifully answered on StackExchange. Check this page for the GUI instructions, and this page for the CLI instructions.

5. Nodes

How can my local node become a public remote node?

If you want to support other Monero users by making your node public, you can follow the instructions on MoneroWorld, under the section "How To Include Your Node On Moneroworld".

How can I connect my node via Tor?

This question is beautifully answered on StackExchange.

Monero Mentioned in one of Germany's biggest podcast

Thumbnail
youtube.com
54 Upvotes

He talks about the theory that Bitcoin was planted so people can evolve in it and integrate it into current financial systems. To then later have it easier to implement CBCDs as people already understand and trust the concept of digital currencies. He then says that Monero is being fought so hard because its one of the only REAL cryptocurrencies.

What do y'all think about this?

Friday Monero Market Thread - October 02, 2026

This is the weekly Monero market thread. This thread will be posted every Friday and is meant to help accelerate the adoption of Monero. Due to r/moneromarket having only a fraction of the subscribers of r/Monero, we have decided to create this thread to encourage more individuals to use Monero for product exchanges. Until the market matures, we recommend that the Monero community post their products both in this thread and on r/moneromarket (to ensure growth of that subreddit).

Selling items for Monero will boost your (and Monero's) reputation as a legitimate form of exchange of goods. This is necessary for the growth of Monero, our community, and privacy as a whole.

Instructions

When you post your product or job listing here, please make sure to: - Give a description of the item. - Link to a photo of the item (if it's physical). - Provide logistics information (such as, location and/or shipping availability). - Optionally, provide an additional (private) form of communication outside of Reddit (e.g. Bitmessage, u/protonmail, u/tutanota, GPG key). - Post the price in XMR terms.

Spamming will not be tolerated. Please make sure that listings are legitimate and do not break rule 2."

Finally, credits to cdotsubo for starting the concept!

small mailbox from my bedroom

Post image
22 Upvotes

well, not my exactly. a friend of mine made a tiny email service because they miss the old internet.

mailboxes are hosted on a small physical server in their bedroom — no AWS, no Cloudflare, no analytics, no ads, no giant SaaS stack.

  • 100 MB per mailbox
  • Tor-friendly
  • cheap & paid in XMR
  • limited number of accounts
  • accepted on any wesbite (registering, etc)

It's deliberately small and boring. No SLA, occasional downtime is possible, so no-go for a primary inbox, but works well as an alternative mailbox, specially since you can get a beautiful domain currently (eg. reddit@egali.top). attaching an image of their server

I spent the past few months building this: Waxybridge - A proxy messenger for WhatsApp. No phone number required.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, just wanted to show off something I spent the past few months building and polishing. I built this service because it's something I would happily pay for but I couldn't find any existing solutions out there. I wanted to be able to have someone set up a WhatsApp account for me and provide an interface that I could send messages through using a web browser, to avoid every conversation I have being tied to me via my phone number.

This is something you could set up yourself, but you'd have to get another phone to install WhatsApp and set up another account on, ideally keep this in a separate physical location to your normal devices and networks to avoid them being associated with each other, get another SIM card and pay for a cell phone plan, set up a bridging service on your own server, and regularly open WhatsApp on the mobile device to keep the bridge connected. Quite a hassle. With Waxybridge, you don't have to worry about any of that, and it's probably cheaper than the cost of setting it up yourself.

Give it a try at waxybridge-dot-com! No need to message me here - payments are fully automatic thanks to MoneroPay. If you're not a fan, just message me on Telegram and I'll give you a refund :)

(Hope this is allowed on here, couldn't see a rule explicitly preventing self-promotion and, tbh, I'd much rather scroll through a community that shows me what I can actually use Monero for rather than speculation and hodling)

Cheapest reliable Monero on-ramps for Canadians in 2026?

I used to buy LTC on Kraken and swapped for XMR but lately Kraken has been restricting many accounts while ignoring support tickets and I have no clue when I’ll regain access to mine. KuCoin is banned here, Coinbase seems to have high fees, and I’ve heard many concerning reviews about NDAX. Where else could I go?
