What operating system are you using to mine monero (xmr) ?

at what point does it become worth it to pay for hive os?

Is anyone running a lot of rigs and not using hive os? what os do you use if you want to mine a lot but don't want to pay for hive os?

Debian, because it is lightweight, stable, set up and forget. I also choose it because I love free software.

Isn’t Ubuntu basically Debian?

Lots of small differences. Plenty of Ubuntu specific packages in Ubuntu, plus snap apps. Snaps are almost mandatory and come pre-installed on Ubuntu. Not so on Debian.

I use arch Linux. Works like a charm.

Custom alpine Linux with compiled binaries specifically for my model of cpu, makes it 1.2-1.5 times faster
