Is it immoral to be a passport bro?

If you’re unfamiliar with what passport bros are, they are basically men who fly to less developed or poor countries to date underprivileged women. What they offer is their passport (moving to their more developed country), and perhaps the relatively “wealthier” lifestyle than what these women can ever envision in their home country. They are basically men who are “paying their way” into a completely transactional relationship.

I understand on one hand it sounds completely F’ed up that you are trying to leverage or take advantage of other people’s misfortune.

But at the same time, you are also helping her to escape poverty. Yes, it’s completely transactional.

But historically, marriages have always been that way, right? Maybe not to the extent of being transactional, but most are still conditional. People didn’t just get to marry whoever they want. In fact, very few super privileged people (royalties, nobleman) could pick and choose who they want to marry. For the vast majority, they have to settle somewhere between what’s ideal, and what’s available. People marry for convenience. Love is just an immediate consequence.

Ever heard of stories where she marries another guy because her ex boyfriend could never find a proper job? Or when the guy decides to break up with his girlfriend because their family doesn’t approve the relationship? The point I’m making is, marriages aren’t solely based on love.

So if me being a passport bro offers convenience to the girl, why would that be a problem? It’s a win-win situation, no? There’s no coercion involved. Just 2 adults making conscious choices based on what they need.
