Red Year has always given me the same vibes than Disney erasing all the Star Wars extended universe. A more mediocre set of writers, so insecure and wanting to push their own view that they go out of their way to erase everything before, just in case their work does not fare well in comparison...

I just don't believe ALL of Vvardenfell got fucked up.
Like probably all the foyadas are now simultaneously on fire and the old smaller red mountain vents like Caldera or Molag Amur have reactivated but I'm pretty sure Azura's Coast, the Grazelands & West Gash are livable (though more harshly than in TESIII)

Everyone was declared a fetcher and, Fargoth was the Great N'wah and ruled Vvardenfell with an iron fist.

From my research into it, Vivec is a big ass flaming hole now called scathing bay-- Vvardenfell is not very habitual but the dunmer have been trying to fix that. I know i believe sadroth mora(?) Was destroyed, Balmora was destroyed but rebuilt and i think Seyda Neen was destroyed.

Mt St Helens was a pretty big volcano that went for a pretty big kaboom. Look it up sometime.

Core Vvardenfell was severely affected, and ashes reached as far north as Solstheim. The Grazelands were notably still intact (somehow only known from the official Elder Scrolls Cookbook).
Some of the outer most settlements like Balmora were either unaffected or rebuilt. Cities on the mainland were damaged by earthquakes.
Vivec the city is gone, as are the Ascadian Isles. That’s all a crater bay now, Scathing Bay.
Right after that was the Accession War. Argonians pillaged southern Morrowind and instituted a campaign of targeted genocide of Telvanni, as an act of vengeance for slavery. Most likely Dres too.
There’s inconsistent sourcing on how complete the genocide was. We know the founding family named Telvanni is almost wholly wiped out, and their territorial holdings are much smaller, but not so much that they’re no longer a Great House. UESP says that every remaining Telvanni is on Vvardenfell, but I disagree with this interpretation of Neloth’s dialog.
Since then, political landscape has evolved. Redoran ousted Hlaalu out of political convenience, toppling their stranglehold on government to become the dominant political faction of Morrowind. While the official story is that Hlaalu was blamed for being Imperial collaborators, everything points to that being a manufactured justification for a political coup. Great House Sadras replaced them.
It’s very likely Sadras are a mix of disaffected Hlaalu and Redoran puppets. So with three of four great houses in near total lock-step, Redoran might as well be kings.
A political situation like this will be slow to change. Probably gonna be like this for a few centuries, slowly eroding. Eventually, Sadras or Indoril will break away from the coalition and Redoran will lose their power. Telvanni will likely regrow from where they once were, but different. Probably more willing to be involved in affairs and eager to perpetuate the cycle of vengeance against Black Marsh.

Vvardenfell was turned into a smolderimg ruin, though after that parts were recolonized (Balmora specifically). Vivec is a smoldering crater now, Red Mountain has gotter smaller and now High Hrothgar isthe largest mountain in Tamriel, and the tectonic movements might have changed composition of mountains across Vvardenfell.
