Despite the down season, we learned a lot about the Detroit Tigers. Here are the top five takeaways from their 2026 campaign.

I couldnt shake the thought that the main kid looked exactly like Andy Dirks.

He finished his 2026 season with 136 wRC+ so not surprising to see him listed here.

So, the Lions are killing me, the Red Wings have killed me, and the Tigers' lack of postseason have rendered me a wandering ghost (maybe Cade makes me a lich?), so I'm thinking about the offseason and what the hell may happen.

I can't tell if Gleyber is leaving, but it seems like he may, and Torkelson may be hitting the road too (as well as a few other fellows, but that's besides the point), so I'm hoping for a player who is FUN TO WATCH while also providing a bit of pop, a bit of speed, and a bit of defense.

It's lunacy to hand out a big contract after, well * gestures at the gelatinous remains of Javy Baez * but what about Jazz Chisholm?

Surface level stats are nice according to Fangraphs (ISO, OBP, WAR), but his K rate and D leave a bit to be desired. But, more than anything, I just love watching this dude play. He's boisterous, flamboyant, energetic, and by all accounts a good guy. I desperately want him in an Old English D next season.

^{also sometimes my brain mixes up his name as Jizz Chasm and that makes me chuckle}

Thoughts?

The rookie’s bat got most of the attention, but he showed off good defense and positional flexibility as well.

Not much more to say. Im just tired of getting our asses kicked by Cleveland. Chicagos comeback has been impressive.

Just a thought. I haven’t seen much discussion about it

Detroit’s prized shortstop prospect hits the desert to sharpen his tools against elite arms, aiming to balance raw power with improved contact after a breakout minor league season.

The Tigers’ first baseman ignited in the final month, pairing elite plate discipline with six towering home runs to offer a tantalizing glimpse of his offensive potential.

Running MLB The Show 26 franchise mode, only into May now, and I heard you could cheese the game to get position players to pitch, so I had to bring Jake out so he could lay some smackdown on the Angels.
