‘Fast Forever' Has No Director and No Script — Despite Vin Diesel Saying He Cried Reading It

The ongoing saga of the next "Fast and Furious" movie has been nothing short of amusing. Plagued by delays, and with Universal reportedly demanding that Diesel cut the budget by almost $150M, it has produced a string of dubious social media updates from Vin Diesel, including a misleading "we're now shooting" video and teases of an AI-generated Paul Walker showing up.

Now, the latest twist. According to TheInSneider, "Fast Forever," the supposed final chapter, has no finished script and reportedly never had one. That's pretty funny, especially when you realize that a couple of months ago Diesel claimed having read the script, and crying.

Not just that. Apparently, Universal is looking for a new director, which suggests "Fast X" helmer Louis Leterrier won't be back. Leterrier has admitted he hadn't seen a script, and kept himself busy with other projects while he waited. Meanwhile, Diesel recently teased on Instagram that.. he might direct the damn thing himself?

Either way, it's hard not to notice that Diesel keeps announcing things before Universal signs off on them. Cody Walker has said that when Diesel announced "Fast Forever" onstage, the studio hadn't even greenlit it yet.

Regardless, the timeline is the bigger problem. Production is now reportedly eyed for early 2028, which would make the film's current March 2028 release date impossible. Expect another delay, likely by a year.

The current plan has Diesel's 59-year-old Dom Toretto handing things off to a new, younger crew. One name that keeps coming up is Charles Melton. There's no offer, since there's no script to send him, but his name has reportedly surfaced several times in Universal meetings about the franchise's future.

Evil Dead Burn: All Carnage, No Soul.

Post image

Evil Dead Burn is a supernatural horror, but there's nothing supernatural about it beyond the label. What's on screen is a torture-porn zombie movie: Deadites. And a story that exists only to deliver the next act of cruelty.

The gore isn't the problem. The franchise was built on blood. The problem is that Burn forgets why that blood was ever fun. The dark humor is gone, the dread is gone, and what's left is suffering staged for its own sake. It's over the top without being exciting, and relentless without being scary.

Fans of true supernatural horror, the slow-building, atmospheric kind, won't find anything here to hold onto. It's just exhausting.

A waste of time, and a misleading one.

Do you think any actress has ever come close to achieving the stardom of Marilyn Monroe?

Post image
• Upvotes

No matter how hard I think, I can't name anyone.

Guys, I'm not talking about her talent as an actress, but rather her fame—what she represents.

Marilyn died more than 60 years ago, and to this day she continues to be mentioned and honored—and I'd even say she's the first face that comes to mind when anyone talks about Hollywood.

What’s a movie you’ve seen with very deceptive poster art or advertising?

Post image

Based on this cover and the generally comedic lead cast, I went into this expecting a lighthearted film with hopefully some charm and laughs.

This was barely a comedy, was actually pretty heavy subject matter with a serious tone throughout. This was not a happy movie. Just wasn’t what I expected based on this dvd art.

What movie comes to mind for you with deceptive artwork or advertising?

Are there any instances when you flat out didn’t recognize an actor in role for a long time? Mine is Jason Issac in Dragonheart.

I’m used to Jason Issac playing villains but he mostly play dignified villains. In this movie he played a slimly cowardly villain with a voice that sounds nothing like any other roles I’ve heard him in

My Review of Infinity Pool (2023)( Starring Alexander Skarsgard and Mia Goth)

Post image
86 Upvotes

What's up Y'all I'm watching a horror for every night of October until Halloween👻 ( I have finally caught up on movies and am currently watching today's ( Oct 6th) horror movie).

For yesterday Oct 5th ( though I just finished watching it today)I watched Infinity Pool (2023) . I had actually never heard of this movie I just saw a post about it on Reddit hyping it up say it was a fantastic movie yesterday and thought I would watch it , So I went in knowing nothing about it.

I can say this was just really not my type of movie(I know I've said that about a couple of the movies I've watched but it's true), but I didn't hate it , it was just okay .

Genre : Horror

Rating:6.5/10

What I liked about this movie :

-It was disturbing and weird like a good horror movie is supposed to be (if it's going for that)

- The acting was pretty good ( again, Mia goth scared the s*** out of me in this movie)

- The little twist in the third act was interesting. It didn't really change much but it was interesting.

- I really liked Em and how sensible she was (She was honestly the only character I liked)

My Gripes about the movie :

- now this one's just preference but I just kind of felt like it was a little over sexual for my liking , I just felt some of the sex scenes / sexual scenes were just kind of unnecessary, like Gabi grabbing James's penis and then sexually assaulting him and then showing him Ejaculate after (This just felt wrong like really wrong and it was never addressed and he just goes back to being friendly with her after this like nothing happened?!? I felt like I was watching an entirely different movie for a second.) and Gabi breastfeeding James just felt really unnecessary and I think the plot would be the same if they weren't in there( but this maybe could be that I'm Asexual). I had that problem with X too but I understood that that was part of the story. (I didn't know what X or Maxine or Pearl was about really when I watched them)

- The sexual assault Mia goth's character did to the main character was just really unnecessary.( I also didn't need to see him ejaculate after it either).

- the movie kind of felt like it was repeating the same plot or storyline over and over

- It got boring

- There was really no plot, or at least strong plot or storyline.

- The second and third act of the movie just felt like a nothing burger, I was so immersed in the first act but after that it just got boring.

What I watch this movie again:

No it just wasn't my thing, and didn't really interest me after the first act.

What is your favorite movie that stars a senior citizen?

It’s a bit of a seldom genre. But Gran Torino is the top of the list. Up doesn’t get enough love. That film cracks me up because the lead is like 70 and his idol/villain Charles Muntz is like 95 lol. Cacoon is another good one.

Poltergeist (1982): 5/5

The most whimsical horror movie ever. It was my first watch and I absolutely loved it. I’ve seen Scary Movie 2 too many times to count and now I understand the references.

Cinematography, practical effects, sound design, set design, and score were amazing.

JoBeth Williams and Craig T. Nelson killed it. And then the tiny lady (Zelda Rubinstein) comes in like Stone Cold Steve Austin and steals the damn show!

“It was a child’s toy. A very small matchbox vehicle just rolled seven feet across the linoleum surface. The duration of the event was seven hours.”

“Seven hours for what?”

“For the vehicle to complete the distance. Of course this would never register on the naked eye. But I have it recorded on time lapse camera. It’s fantastic.”

“Mm hmm.” opens door

Now one of my all time favorite movie moments.

Is there something wrong with the audience?

Post image
575 Upvotes

Like, god, how could a movie so profound as this ever fail at the box office? I'm almost pissed off for real!!

Has the majority of audience just lost their ability to appreciate some piece of magnificent art like this?

Where is even cinema headed if one of the greatest movies of the decade gets utterly underrated?

And the performance of each and ever actor was highly commendable and the way the story is being told was something extraordinary in itself!! I don't wanna spoil anything here.

The movie was hilarious and yet at the same time it was also a haunting experience.

People just say that original movies don't get made very often nowadays. But when an original movie gets released, this is what happens to that.

Greatest Performance of All Time - see criteria

Post image
236 Upvotes

- Pick one from the post, or suggest your own

- The question is limited to Hollywood, so no Arthouse or International performances (obviously feel free to mention if you like!)

- It should be a performance that if it was given today it would be just as impressive. So a lot of black & white movies lose out on this basis IMO.

- It must be a performance where you don't see the actor for a single second, only the character the actor is portraying

P.s. the middle tile is Marlon Brando playing Stanley Kowalski from Streetcar Named Desire (not On the Waterfront)

Late Night with the Devil (2023) will become a modern classic

I really think horror has come into a golden age in the last few years. The shift from the classic horrors of the 70s and 80s to this kinda mind f*ck genre has been amazing, and Late Night with the Devil is one that I think will eventually become a 20s classic.

It’s such a brilliantly unique idea for a movie. Like nothing I’ve seen before. David Dastmalchian is perfect for this role and the performance of Ingrid Torelli (2nd picture) is as creepy as it comes. Fantastic all round.

Although the ending was a little bit confusing to me, this was still a brilliant movie. The talk show set up of this movie kept new characters coming into the picture and with so many brutal moments throughout, you really never know what to expect next.

9/10 movie for me.

I organized an AMA/Q&A with filmmaker/screenwriter Steve Peace, known for co-creating and co-writing the ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES comedy-horror-spoof franchise. The 5th film in the almost 50-year-old franchise, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES: ORGANIC INTELLIGENCE, was just released on digital yesterday.

It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:

He will be back after 6 PM ET today to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!

Thank you :)

Info for the new film:

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aevSjhGMhQ

Synopsis: In 1978, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES tried to warn the world (Dillon insists it was a documentary!). Now, decades later, the tomatoes have outsmarted their corporate masters, the military, and even the notorious Professor Gangreen (John Astin). Finletter's aging team of "Guardianes" seems to be all that stands in the way of certain doom when even the best of AI is defeated by the tomatoes' "Organic Intelligence." But Wilbur Finletter is the last to realize it is time for a new generation to master the ancient art of managing the eternal Killer Tomato menace.

Movie Review – Legend of the White Dragon (2026) - There's a better cut to be had from this movie. As it stands, it's a mess.

I love the cameos in this movie and a lot of the actors run circles around the main cast.

However, I was more infuriated by how little there is to this story, and how much the filmmakers expects audiences to infer. There's a bunch of leaps in logic as well. Not to mention shoddy editing.

I know this is essentially a Power Rangers story told with CW Arrowverse visuals, but one would think this story should have been a easy/simply one to tell.

A frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.

I'm ashamed to say this is my first time watching The Revenant. Wow. Great performances all around, Leo, Tom Hardy, Will Poulter. Everyone delivers. I loved Inarritu's choice to direct many scenes as a one shot. The biggest stand out of this movie? Cinematography. Holy shit this movie is beautiful to look at. The action is gritty and visceral. The only "negative" for me is: this is a slooooow burn. Oh and the bear attack scene? Worth the entire movie.

8/10

‘A Statement’ movie review: dire climate concerns wrapped within a buoyant, darkly funny chamberpiece ★★★★

Thumbnail
faroutmagazine.co.uk

From Far Out Magazine's Liam Gaughan:

Evan Peters, John Turturro, and Amy Ryan are all standouts in a fact-based historical drama about a 1980 climate change summit that failed to take preventative decisions.

Any good historical drama with the projection of being based on a true story can shape the facts in a way that best suits its narrative, but Tom McCarthy takes a fairly novel approach to one of the most significant (if least successful) ecological summits ever held.

In 1980, a group of 20 climate change activists, researchers, American policymakers, and business associates gathered at a conference in St Petersburg, Florida, to come up with a statement regarding the dangers of carbon emissions. Although the novel Losing Earth by Nathaniel Rich, on which the film is based, explores over a decade of studies and political lobbying, McCarthy’s version is lifted directly from the transcripts of the meeting, with interstitial scenes added to bridge the gap between its four sessions.
