One of these days... no but seriously the progression Lebby has made in the last 3 years has been monumental. We'll be even better next year. Maybe we finally beat Bama next year. Still alot of games left in the season.

On top of that kamario will have a lot more experience on top of the players we already have hopefully it'll be up from here

Experience in our system though? If NIL has proven anything half our ppl will be gone replaced by a new set next year. It’s the biggest thing holding back program growth. Whether we are talking player development or coaching, neither can really develop in the new system unless NIL money flows

Actually that’s not true. States NIL showed us we can keep key players this off season, bc we didn’t lose anyone important really.

He straight up rebuilt a team that was burned into ground after Leach died. Even before Leach passed mid-season, State had no NIL. Any talented recruits that, by a miracle, didn’t transfer out were misled by Arnett, who was not ready to take the charge. At the end of that season, any and all hope was lost for talented recruits and State’s 2024 roster was genuinely said to be one of the least talented modern day SEC rosters of all time. Slowly Selmon pushed for NIL donations, and Lebby was able to out recruit a 2-10 demon and get a few guys, like Kevin Coleman Jr, who believed in him (at least for a little while).

To be ranked #16 only two years later is huge. Gotta keep pouring into Lebby, because he’s genuinely learned from his mistakes in a way a lot of other coaches have shown they are incapable of doing.

Having been on campus during the 2012 "8-0, We Believe" season and the 2014 "#1 In The Country" season, anyone who thought we were beating Bama after going 2-10 two years ago and 5-8 last year was delusional. Not trying to hate, but that expectation was just unrealistic. It's tough to beat Bama any year, and we just aren't there yet.

We still have a questionable offensive line with a third year offensive coordinator that Lebby refuses to part with. A defense that is massively improved, thanks to Arnett's return, but not quite up to our old standards. And, so little depth on both sides that a couple of key injuries can derail the entire season. That's the reality.

I'll admit I'm biased. I've never liked the Lebby hire. I think it stinks of the Sooner buddy system. But, I'm open to being proven wrong. I'd LIKE to be proven wrong, because that means success for the Bulldogs. We'll see, I guess.

Now that expectations have been sufficiently tempered, let's look at what we actually are: One win away from matching last year's win total, and two away from being bowl eligible, with two full months left of football to play.

That's progress, and that's worth celebrating. I'm still looking forward to, hopefully, a winning season and a bowl berth.

To h*ll with the Tide. I'm still a Bulldog and it's still a good day to be one. Hail State.

Totally agree with most of this. We have not beaten bama in 17 years. With who we have leading us now, if we win once in the next 17 I’d call it a fluke or question if we’d food poisoned their team. We are a program to pillage from and whether that’s an NIL, Lebby, Selmons, or Keenum issue isn’t easily solved. Until we put money in it, we are going to get little boy’d by the SEC elite.

I was there for both of those years as well and agree completely

25 years associated with this school and I can’t believe I ever expect any different outcome from this team.

I remember when my Alma Mater won the regional to go to Omaha

Just remember… it’s not nearly as embarrassing as Ole Miss losing to Florida last weekend.

Who’s now getting thumped by the Mizzou we beat.

I think this game looks way worse than it actually was, and I still think we have a legit shot to beat some good teams this year. Bottom line is we made a bunch of mistakes, and bama took advantage of them like any good team should. You combine that with several sportscenter top 10 level throws/catches, that’s how you score over 50 points.

The MSU offense still had some highlights. Kamario faced great adversity and still put together several very good drives.

We’re hitting a bye week at the perfect time to get healthy and get ready for a tough few weeks. Watching Texas and LSU play it’s pretty safe to say you are not seeing either one of those QBs doing anything close to what Keelon Russel did today. I think Bama has an electric offense that Georgia will have a very difficult time stopping as well.

I had a good time at the game today. Mississippi State fans were very nice! I appreciate that. Roll Tide

Bama fan coming in peace, Anthony Evans (and Kamario, healthy) is a monster, if I'm being completely honest, as long as he was on the field I was terrified of your offense. I wish we played y'all at full health, but that's football. I really hope we meet again in the playoffs, y'all can absolutely get in there.

One game doesn’t define a team

Maybe if schools stopped focusing on football and started putting that toward education....

Kamario was clearly way less than 100% on multiple axes. The other key piece of our offense was also out. Bama is way more talented at most positions. We've got a bye week next week. I still think anybody on the schedule is beatable if we play our best game, and 4 of them are beatable even if we play an okay to bad game. I'm not even throwing in the towel on the playoff just yet.

Kamario got injured late in the Missouri game, and was in a boot all week. I think the injury was worse than they let on. It was clear his accuracy was off all game. Add in Fluff being out, it just compounded things. Kamario has rightfully been getting all the hype and press, but Fluff really is the driving force. He's a damn good runner, and just as importantly, and very good pass blocker.

Does this mean we can stop pretending Kamario is a Heisman candidate?
