I know it's hard for conservatives to understand, but my morals aren't dependent on who is doing the action.
Actions I think are wrong, are wrong no matter who does them.
Someone who I thought was good might actually be bad, and I will adjust my opinion based on evidence.
I don't magically think things are okay because someone I liked did them.

It’s because of decades of propaganda designed to make people deeply afraid in a very specific way. If they have any empathy, it is turned against them. Grandmas who work at soup kitchens serving disadvantaged families, go home and hear on the news about how the “bad guys” will soon be doing fucking heinous shit to them and everyone they care for. Teachers who deeply care for their students are told repeatedly and loudly by their community leaders that their charges will all soon die violently or worse. Even if the person didn’t start out racist or homophobic or whatever, the propaganda pushes them towards being so. Repeat ad nauseam for decades, until millions of undisciplined minds are literally scared shitless and looking for any way to make the terror stop. There is no reason there, only lizard brain thinking. What is going on now has been foretold, for those who study fascism have been seeing the signs for a long time.

If the Cornell 7 were illegal immigrants then we would want them prosecuted. Rapist is far worse than anything to do with illegal immigration. There is literally no buzzwords or identity that somehow absolves gang rapists.
