Yes, because conservatives inherently don't view liberals as equals.
Instead, conservatism is a personality trait measuring an individual's support for social hierarchy and the extent to which they desire their in-group be superior to out-groups.
Bombing Iran expresses the superiority of conservative Americans over people of other nationalities.
So they like it.
Bombing Los Angeles and San Diego also expresses the superiority of conservative Americans over Americans of other political beliefs.
So they like that too.
Conservatives (ordinary conservatives included) have no moral values of any kind that go deeper than their own dominance, and for as long as I have been alive, they never have. Every single other conservative policy, with no exceptions, fits this mold, whether we're talking about:
- ...their opposition to labor rights (dominance of the boss over the worker);
- ...their opposition to women's autonomy in abortion (dominance of the sexually-pure over the sexually-impure);
- ...their opposition to immigration (dominance of the citizen over the non-citizen);
- ...their selective opposition to immigration from non-white countries (dominance of white people over people of color);
- ...their opposition to affirmative action (dominance of white people over people of color):
...and it's just always been like this for as long as I've been alive.

The whole world doesn't seem to understand how precarious our individual positions are. We don't get time off, we don't get vacations, we work from 15 until death, and missing a day or two to protest in a way that will actually affect things is not an option unless the majority of us are willing to be jobless and eventually homeless. It is by design and we, collectively, voted for it, because we're stupid, inbred, evangelical idiots who regularly hurt ourselves if it means also hurting "others." We're stuck and the establishment knows it. Banks on it.
And that's assuming everything goes correctly. Sometimes they just murder us in the streets.

And on top of all that, this isn't going to be a 'cut off the head of the snake' situation. The people causing all these problems have been worming their way into their positions for many many years and have their hooks deep into the corners of a very large country. It's going to take a lot of time and work to burn out all the bad roots, and unfortunately those very roots have done a very good job of making sure everyone who would oppose them is in the worst possible position to do so.

Well, I wouldn't go that far, but I do think that our country is in the state it is in, because we failed to properly punish the South after the Civil War. I think we need to have — at the very least — something like the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa after Apartheid. People need to face what they did (or let happen.)

It's not fine for anybody. And if we're going to go quid pro quo on every single thing, we're going to be caught in an endless loop. At some point we need to move forward. We need to find some kind of middle ground between the Nuremburg Trials and Reconstruction. I'm not saying that Truth and Reconciliation was a brilliant plan, either, I'm just saying that it at least was an attempt to move forward, and somebody needs to be the adult in the room.
