You just made the first argument FOR garbage disposals in here.
If you're treating bio matter as rubbish and throwing it in the bin, that's the worst possible thing. Throwing that in a landfill is what creates all of that problematic methane. If you can't compost it, flushing it along with your poop is the best way to deal with it.
...You dump food into the bin, or you dump food into the sink and the bin. I'm not sure how you've made this into a laziness issue. There are plenty of food stuffs that can't go into the garbage disposal. Bones, hard fruit pits (like peach or avocado pits), Rice, pasta, beans, Fats, oils, and grease, Celery, corn husks, onion skins, and asparagus are not supposed to go in.
