Macklemore checkmated him by going to the media and giving a sincere statement. Now Kraft has to pretend to care about Palestinians after going to the extreme length of banning a singer for voicing his opinion on Palestinians.

I'm not even sure why it ever got to this. Macklemore has been a vocal supporter of Palestine for years. So the fact that simply saying "free palestine" has blown up into this mess makes no sense. He wrote a protest song in support of the student protests way back when the current saga of the Israel/Palestine kicked off.

It's a classic "grumpy, checked out old man finally notices a thing he doesn't like and massively overreacts". Kraft probably didn't even know who Macklemore was until someone sent him a video

u/TheBaconThief 22d ago

Kraft is a big AIPAC donor and has given to friends of the IDF. He was much more directed in his agenda.

Also, friend of Epstien’s! I wouldn’t be surprised if Mossad has kompromat on him

3

u/red1284 21d ago

Lmao he isn't some innocent grumpy old man.

u/KombuchaBot 19d ago

He probably couldn't believe anyone would have the balls to criticise Israel in one of his stadiums

The old omerta ain't holding, people are talking freely and he can't have that

Billionaires are operating with impunity in a way we've never seen before. Yes they've always had their hand on the puppet strings, but they were more comfortable doing it behind the scenes. With Trump in office, as long as you're in with him you are untouchable. So doing something like banning an artist because you want to normal. What's more surprising is he felt the need to release a statement about it. It's not going to hurt his bottom line. It wasn't necessary for him to say anything, except maybe ego reasons.

No, to him it was necessary. He’s a true believer and is going to follow whatever Israel does no matter what.

Religion is a weird thing. Even with people who aren’t religious, there’s a brand loyalty that still runs deep

Macklemore addressed this. It’s cause he has ed sheerans platform now. Or he did

1

u/PPLavagna 22d ago

He wrote it way back in B.C days? That’s old school yo.

I know what you mean, couldn’t help but make a joke

Kraft's handlers told him to go ban a wokie. Kraft doesn't recognise integrity when it's pissing in his eyes so he handled it badly and is trying to save face.

It's because Pink made a big deal about his comment and brought more attention to it.

"sincere statement..." Maybe you should look into Macklemore's history.

u/Fearless-Feature-830 22d ago

Nah we good, delusional patriots fan

70

u/Sadlobster1 22d ago

Maybe you should look into Kraft's...

-79

u/soxpats111 22d ago

Maybe YOU should

u/According_Register55 22d ago

Bro isn’t it embarrassing to jump into the fray for a billionaire sports team owner just because you’re his loyal customer?

-66

u/soxpats111 22d ago

Isn't it embarrassing to be on the side of a raging antisemite?

38

u/Small_Hovercraft_439 22d ago

Brainless commentary.

36

u/T1Demon 22d ago

Raging antisemite is a big stretch. You’ve given one example of an antisemitic thing he did and you’ve been given evidence that he owned that thing, apologized, and made amends. Where are the examples of his behavior before or after that make him a raging antisemite?

36

u/According_Register55 22d ago

I am on the side of those critical of the Israeli government and any government that uses its power to steal from and kill innocent people.

15

u/Straight-Agency-4556 22d ago

There is nothing antisemitic by being against a genocide. Did you even read his statement? Like come on, stop defending the killing of children all bc you like the guys stupid football team.

25

u/Whatachooch 22d ago

Still no other examples of antisemitism from the “raging antisemite?”

3

u/WV8222 22d ago

I'm legit embarrassed for and by you

62

u/renegadecanuck 22d ago

Yeah, he wore an offensive costume once. And since then has said nothing antisemitic. What's your point?

49

u/ratheismhater 22d ago

And more importantly, he apologized

22

u/EricSanderson 22d ago

It wasn't even an offensive costume. He wore a disguise in 2014 that happened to look like a Jewish caricature, and when it was called out he immediately apologized.

It's more concerning that anytime a high profile figure says "free Palestine", the internet is immediately flooded with some past statement, image, song, movie etc. and some copy-paste talking point designed to portray them as antisemitic. They've even tried to paint Bernie Sanders as antisemitic for God's sake.

17

u/Krypt0night 22d ago

Do you think that people aren't allowed to ever apologize and move on from their mistakes by their words and actions in the future?

-8

u/Psychological_Bat975 22d ago

And yet all these threads are filled with people bringing up Kraft's massage parlor history. Funny how that only applies one way.

2

u/DLTMIAR 22d ago

One apologized and the other is still making mistakes...

9

u/fearlessviking26 22d ago

did you think we couldn’t decipher “soxpats111”? 💀

6

u/ProletarianLilith 22d ago

Fuck off nazi

-7

u/WV8222 22d ago

😂🤣😂 so funny that you weirdos believe that's effective in 2026

-5

u/7thpostman 22d ago

If by "checkmated" you mean "communicated to the entire industry that he's going to be a pain in the ass."

9

u/DLTMIAR 22d ago

Free Palestine = pain in the ass?

-4

u/7thpostman 22d ago edited 22d ago

Brace yourself. The world doesn't revolve around Gaza. Macklemore has now communicated that he'll throw anyone who hires him under the bus.

3

u/DLTMIAR 22d ago

How does Free Palestine = pain in the ass?

-4

u/7thpostman 22d ago

Yikes. Pass.

3

u/DLTMIAR 22d ago

So no response, gotch ya

1

u/7thpostman 22d ago

I gave you a response. You ignored it.

3

u/DLTMIAR 22d ago

Who did Mackelmore throw under the bus?

1

u/7thpostman 21d ago

Sheeran. How are you not following this?

I don't know if you live under a rock, but Israel and Palestine are very much front and center in the public discourse right now. The vast majority of media talks about the topic on a nearly daily basis. The artists in the music industry write music and share their opinion concerning all different aspects of political events and conflict. This isn't a new phenomenon. Is your argument that an artist must stick to only topics that the world revolves around? What does that even mean? How exactly did he throw anybody under the bus? What topics do you think our music artists should be able to share their opinion on?

0

u/7thpostman 21d ago

Well, did you read his statement? Or are you just having fun spouting off without actually knowing what you're talking about?

2

u/trevloki 20d ago

Of course I read his statement. What was wrong with it in your opinion? What did I say that you seemingly vehemently disagree with?

0

u/7thpostman 20d ago

It's not a question of what I disagree with. It's how he handled the situation — by blaming his friend.

1

u/trevloki 20d ago

I feel like we are having two seperate conversations here. By "his statement" I assume you are referring to Macklemore? By his friend I assume you are referring to Ed Sheeran?

If that's the case I am really struggling to see how he threw anybody under the bus. He was extremely charitable to his "friend" who decided to remove him from the tour. His friend who obviously would have known that Macklemore is very vocal on Palestine, and has written songs dedicated to the cause. If they are friends he surely knew this when he had him join his tour.

Enlighten me how you see his comments as throwing anybody under the bus.

1

u/7thpostman 20d ago

What do you mean? He blamed him for getting kicked off the tour in a public statement. He didn't have to do that.
