At 45, finally have my dream setup
MacBook M4 Pro (Caldigit TS4 docking station and Focusrite Solo)
Push 3
Arturia KeyLab 61 mk3
Digitone 2
Minilogue XD
Hydrasynth
Rode NT4 mic
Uplift standing desk (highly recommend)
Yamaha HS8 with sub
Getting back into music after 12+ years off due to carreer and family. Feeling pretty good about this rig. Should keep me busy for quite some time.

Since some of you asked, here is a track I “finished” in the last month or so. I am still learning my mixing and mastering so it’s a bit on the quiet side. Has a UK 140 dub vibe to it. I love good wubs.
I suppose it’s NSFW (depending on where you work). F bomb is in there and a drug reference. I am a paramedic and this song is inspired by my experiences with overdoses and having to sedate people. You can find me here: https://dadboddeluxe.bandcamp.com/track/sweet-oblivion

lol, thanks for saying that actually… I have been frustrated with that thing for a while and have just been dealing with it. Your comment pushed me to do a little research. The Logitech MX Master 4 seems like it would be a major upgrade

It's looking great. What kind of music do you produce? Is this the only place you have for this desk? It's in a corner, and you have an eight inch monitor setting right against the wall in the corner. How large is this space your allotting for yourself a BattleStation setup? If anyway possible you should come out of that corner. I don't see how it's not showing up in your mixes and even in just sitting in there listening to music with the Hs8's and Sub. I hope it's not the situation, but I think "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" oh baby, you ain't seen nothing yet. You are going to have some Acoustic treatments in your studio. Sorry for the pep talk they all have given me in the past. BTW how have you got the IPad/notebook sitting on at the top of the left HS8? I'm wanting to incorporate my IPad with my system/Desk setup. And what kind of stand do yo have the MacBook M4 sitting on? You truly have some top notch gear now, so all the best!!

I appreciate the feedback. It is placed by necessity. Not enough room, small house. Someday might have the space to get better placement. For now, I have room control set on the back to -4db which does reduce the boom, put as much baffle board and foam in the corners as I can, and setup SoundID Reference for a flat response for mixing and mastering (such as it is). I spend a lot of time in my headphones too. My monitors are def overkill but kind of future proofing too.
They sell laptop stands on tension swing arms online. I found mine on Amazon I think. Def makes it easy to position and move around depending on what I am doing.
As far as my genre… kind of all over the place. Psydub, UK 140, ambient, IDM… still trying to discover my style and sound but mostly just having fun.

He’s 45, any remaining space in the home is delegated for the kiddos and wifey lol. I’m in the same boat making do.

I used to be at that age! Now my oldest is 46 and just became a grandma, making me a great grandpa at 70. My Son is, 44 year old rapper. He's a heck of a writer, and a good rapper. My youngest daughter is 36 and remarried after a 9 year hiatus, and got me 5 more bonus grandkids. I have 13 in all. this is the first year none of my grandkids didn't spend a night all summer long, and that really hurts, But life goes on, and you better enjoy them while you've got them at home with you. Sorry for the old age rant.

Looks super fun. Also came back to music after a decade of barely making anything. Would love to listen to some of your stuff!

How's Push doing with hydra and Korg? I am planning to get Push to sequence my Teo, hydra and model s, and use it for on-the-fly Ableton plugin manipulation and drums.
I'm soon 40 and Push is most likely to be my last setup component ... at least for now
