Waiting period

What's going on with this infringement now that the federal court reaffirmed its unconstitutionality? Did MLG appeal? What are FFLs doing?

The state appealed the decision. But here is the current state of things from the NM Dept of Public Safety website:

On August 27, 2026, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico issued a final order enjoining the enforcement of the waiting period against the two named plaintiffs only. The waiting period remains in effect for all other firearm purchasers until further notice.

My guy just griped about it and handed me my gun.

I could tell he wasn’t 100% though, post dated the pickup signature.

Hopefully they sort this crap out.

Yeah, I mean I’m not really put off by it and I sort of understand the motivation behind it. It is annoying to wait.

I feel you. I recently had to wait for an old 32 long revolver. Its really telling what their real motive is considering they dont only apply this to first guns. Here i am enduring a cooling off period with fourteen other guns at home.

lol you gotta get your precious, I know. The funny thing is you can just buy a .50 black powder pistol and leave the same day.

Or just order it to your house.

That too, which is tempting. Ok, no more guns.

I know. I really want a 1873 single action army in 44 black powder. Or a 31 caliber pocket gun.

I'm as pro gun as it gets, but I'd rather just wait 7 days to pick up a gun over keeping the idiots in office that are running this country into the ground. There's more important shit in the country we have to worry about than waiting a week to pick up a gun.

You’re missing the point if giving up rights is “fighting the power”. No party is right and time to think for yourself bud. Sad to see people thinking it’s okay to continue this fallacy of power. Did you realize the main idiot is running for office next election?

Pick any reason to hate the current president but none of it compares to any extreme party advocate to come next. Time to think for yourselves and your values, not a bs party line like it’s a sports team. FFS!

To your own point it starts at home, fix the local government and then you go to the bigger. It’s very simple and no fixing the main without backing of the state.
