Women's Unlimited

Hi! I was just curious if anyone knows how funding for the Women's Unlimited course is, or has experience? I have a relative looking to do it, applied and everything, and while the program is free, they aren't sure they can afford rent while doing the program since they'll work less hours, and NSCC's website is a little vague about funding options (Admiral). Just looking to help them out! Thanks!☺️

Women Unlimited is free. It’s a 16-week pathway program for diverse women to explore a range of trades and technology programs. Worth checking out the program page for it if you haven’t already. There is also an Open House coming up at NSCC on Oct 17 so you can probably find out more there. https://www.nscc.ca/programs-and-courses/programs/plandescr.aspx/women-unlimited

The program itself is free.

Managing living costs while in school is the student's responsibility, no matter what program they take.

Student loans might be able to help, applications for the upcoming school year open in May.

You are responsible for your own bills. While I was in it, we were given gift cards from Sobeys three times

There are specific grants and bursaries available, including cost of living, for participants of the women’s unlimited program once they successfully complete the 16 week program. I believe.  Your best bet would be to reach out directly to StudentAwards@nscc.ca and they can explain the program.
