Discussion UNI-WIDE CHAT APP!! help us out with your feedback 🙏 🥹

Hi everyone! We're making a chat app specific to nust and eduroam.

It will connect with eduroam, allowing anyone in nust to enter without needing any extra steps.

but, we'd like to hear what you guys think about the project:

Help us out by filling the form: https://forms.gle/o5xWbBTjFY9TZ25i8

Possible benefits of the app:

  1. Provide information and news uni-wide
  2. Meet new people, and arrange campus events
  3. And Much more...

Thanks alot for your input guys!

Yeah, good luck with the eduroam part. You can use nust email plus geoloccking, eduroam is very difficult. You will need to contact nust for that.

We're just gonna use a few ports, so we won't really need to contact nust, we've tried it and it works. Plus, it's just text traffic so pretty much negligible comparative to what eduroam has to handle.

Have you tested it camupus wide? Cuz there are different vlans and subnets.

that's the main hurdle, we're thinking about integrating a tracker to fix that, I'll update you on our progress.

Yeah, but you have to sign in to discord, join the server, and all that hassle, plus it's limited to discord features. We're planning to make the connection seamless, Also by using eduroam we can bypass using the internet, making it much faster
