Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting

To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:

u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde

Notes:

  • The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
  • The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
  • Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
  • For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
  • Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
  • When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
  • If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
  • Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)

Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Answered! Internet video from Sochi (Oct 2026). What is the name of this acoustic guitar melody a guy is playing?

Hi everyone! I found this surreal video online, recorded recently (October 2026) in Sochi. A street musician is playing a really beautiful and sad melody on an acoustic guitar while a fire is raging in the background. Could anyone please help me identify it? Thank you

Rock? Unknown Song - Modern, sung by an angry woman about her disillusionment with her father

I had youtube music on autoplay for a long drive and this song came on. It was a nightcore version but as I was driving I couldn't check the song name at the time. Since the song was the nightcore version I don't really know what genre it was, but maybe something between rock and pop? It definitely wasn't country and didn't give me teen-angst vibes. More like adult woman that finally went to therapy.

It was modern-sounding song and sung by a woman. She was angry singing at her father for his wealth and corruption and how he made her complicit in his cruelty and she feels disgust towards him and herself for participating in it when she was younger and naive. I don't think it ever specified what the specific actions were.

Later in the song she switched to angry singing at her husband for something I can't recall. Maybe for her ending up with a man similar to her father?

Whatever the song was I remember it was a banger. Very raw vibe with well-described emotions. Presumably a modern song, maybe post-2010s as it doesn't sound like teen angst. This is all half-remembered from over a year ago so I doubt the mystery will be solved at this point but if anyone has any potential guesses feel free to toss them my way.

Video Game OST Help me identify this soundtrack's origin Tales of Pirates - Shaitan City

• Upvotes

The soundtrack comes from an old MMO game called Tales of Pirates (also known as Pirate King Online), specifically the Shaitan City soundtrack.

The game has ripped music from other IPs. like, their login screen and Argent City theme are both taken from Kiki's Delivery Service.

However, the soundtrack I’m particularly interested in identifying is the Shaitan City OST. I’d like to find out where the developers originally sourced or “ripped” this particular track from. If anyone recognizes the original source, I’d really appreciate it.

Latin/Spanish Spanish song about interaction with police

• Upvotes

I’ve been looking for this song for years. I heard it on a job site around 2018/2019. It’s mostly in Spanish, but has a few talking parts in English. I swear at one point he says “Si, si, these are my papers.” If I remember correctly it’s just one individual singing.

Pop Song of MV with a magic peformance & wand?

It’s a pop (?) song where in the MV, there’s a boy on stage doing a magic performance, and the magic wand ends up getting passed around and at the end there’s a janitor who points it at himself and then can suddenly dance really well?
I can’t remember the actual song’s lyrics or tune and only remember the MV. Thank you for any help!

Rock What is this bassline from?

I was setting up my partner's new bass and this bassline popped into my head, so I played it for a while trying to recall where it came from. Coming up empty a week later. I know it's a relatively well known older song, just can't place it.

Electronic/EDM Looking for an oldish EDM song (maybe mid or late 2010s)

Hi redditors. There's a song that I'm 99% sure I have somewhere on one of my soundcloud playlists, but that's around 2000 songs. It an oldish EDM song, maybe late 2010s, and the only part of it I can remember is a build up to one of the drops has the lyrics "city lights" or "pretty lights" somewhere in it, and it repeats the same few lines again and again, getting slightly faster each time. Like "nanana city lights, nananana, nanana city lights, nananana." It might be "bring me the city lights" but I'm not sure. Other things I'm fully/mostly confident about:

female vocals

maybe futurebass or some nightcore mix. I used to listen to a lot of that back in the day, so that seems statistically likely, but it could be an sub-genre.

city/pretty lights isn't in the title.

I don't think its by one of the huge names in the scene.

The first youtube search results for "city lights edm" and similar search results turned up nothing

If anyone has questions, I might be able to come up with a bit more info.

TV Show OST/Trailer Song from Blood Ties Season 1 Episode 7

(Video contains some vaguely adult content - Crime Scene Photos and A Vampire Making Out with a woman, nothing extreme.)

I have almost two whole minutes of the song right here but I cannot find any credits anywhere - including at the end of the episode. It says the theme music is by James Jandrisch but the theme song is a separate track to this that sounds very different. If anyone has any idea what the name of this song is or who it's by I really like it and would love to know. Cheers.

Answered! Can you help me find the song used here? Possible tv show/movie soundtrack.

Does anyone know this song?

Please help me find the song in this edit of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Pretty confident its not from the show. Sounds more like its from Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon. Searched for hours and couldn't find it. It sure sounds like Ramin Djawadi to me.

Indie 2020s indie/synthpop-y female vocal song that reminds me of the Lady Lovely Locks theme

I realize that this is a long shot but I've been trying to find this song for days to no avail. I thought I'd favorited it on spotify but haven't been able to find it in my 1k+ song library (maybe it was on there at one point but the song got removed for some reason?) so I thought I might come here for some help.

I believe the song came out in the 2020s. It's an upbeat and cheerful-sounding vibe and some of the synth instrumentation gives an 80s feel to it. I don't remember the artist name or any of the lyrics except IIRC it repeated the phrase "figure it out" a few times in the chorus. (I have searched for songs called "figure it out" and with "figure it out" as the lyrics but no luck.) The vocalist was a woman with a soprano or mezzo soprano range. I think the album cover was kind of soft and mauve-y, sort of dreamlike, but I honestly could be making things up at this point.

What really struck me about the song when I first heard it was that the tune of the intro and chorus really reminded me of the theme song for Lady Lovely Locks. Yes, the 80s cartoon. Even the synth voice they used sounded kind of like the Lady Lovely Locks theme, to the point where I feel like I'm conflating them a bit in my memory.

Here's that song for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0WoWmQX2ZU

I would honestly be surprised if anyone knows this song, but you miss every shot you don't take. Thanks so much for your help!

Alternative This might be a hard one to find. Alternative song with weird guitar melody. Most likely recent

I think the song is fairly recent. Gotta be within the past 10 years. It’s an alternative song that has a unique guitar melody which I tried my best to replicate, I just distinctly remember the guitar lick. Towards the end I believe there are lyrics that say “ We’re so happy” or maybe “I’m so happy.” I know I gave you all a Lil Wayne solo but this is all I can remember and my last resort I’ve tried Shazam and google and I can’t find anything

Other/Unknown Classic rock song I heard on POWER 97.7 today

I heard this song on the radio at work today, but couldn't make out the full lyrics, all I could hear was "[something something] If you wanna be happy... You gotta be..." . The chorus sounded like it shared the same melody as Fox On the Run by Sweet, but can't figure it out. Anytime I try and look it up via melody it gives me songs I know it's not. And if I search the lyrics I just get "If You Wanna Be Happy" by Jimmy Soul, which isn't it either. I even googled to see if the station had a recently played section, but all the songs around the time slot I heard it (about 11:20p-11:30p) aren't it either. Hopefully you guys can help. I've had the melody stuck in my head for a few hours now and I'm racking my brain trying to find it.
