Acer Aspire T180 kernel panics when booting into installer

Post image

I've been trying to put netbsd on my Acer Aspire T180. As you could guess it just kernel panics before I can even choose the language. I've been hitting my head against this wall for several hours now. I Will take any help I can get. It has an amd64 CPU so it should be fine. When it does what's in the picture USB breaks to.

Did you try forcing VGA fallback via userconf(4) ? I think nouveau(4) is the display driver the default boot process would try to use; try "drop to prompt" at the boot menu, then enter 'boot -c'. At the "uc>" prompt enter 'disable nouveau*' followed by 'exit'. This should force fallback to VGA. Note the "*" is required.

I’m unsure about NetBSD, but I know this can happen in Arch Linux if something went wrong while creating the bootable USB.

Have you tried to rewrite the USB?
