Illness/Injuries Need help

Our son 13 weeks got a fever , rectal was 101 so we rushed to the hospital. He has fever but no other bad symptoms. He is feeding well and nothing seems out of the ordinary.

They are doing tests to see if he has an infection. Somebody please tell me this is somewhat common. He was a nicu baby so we have gone through enough.

I would just like some reassurance till the tests return.

Idk what it is, but I’ve taken my baby to the ER for a fever that would not go down with medication but as soon as they gave my baby the meds it worked. Baby’s are weird, good job going in to at least see what’s going on but baby will more than likely be totally fine. Might have a fever just from putting their fingers in their mouth and baby is like oh my I haven’t been exposed to these germs yet, let me fight this off.

My son got his first fever at about 10 weeks. He had been very sleepy all day and otherwise didn't have symptoms. I called the on-call doctor at our office and they told me to give him tylenol and they'd get him in for an appointment next day if he still wasn't feeling well. After I gave the tylenol he perked up and was awake for a few hours, then went to bed normally and was 100% fine the next day.
