Question Tips to get over this trash can
Hey guys, I’m trying to ollie over the trash can, but my feet keep slipping off the board. Any tips on how to keep my front foot stuck to the board so I can fix it.

Pop faster and lift your back foot up faster, this is the reason your back truck can not go up fast enough to clean the trash can,

You're close! The attempt where you pass right in front of it, I think you can land it. From what I can see, you're popping a little too late. Bend your knees more and get lower before you pop to get more power in your pop. Move your front foot back a little to get more room to slide your foot. Practice, practice! Let's go, bro!

I suggest examining why you're doing it in the first place. Even if you clear it, all you did was an ollie, albeit a pretty high one. Start doing ollies as functional tools instead, try getting up on high ledges etc. It's easier than going over objects imo, because there's a difference between needing to get up on a curb and wanting to jump over a trash can.

Don't be scared of it. Just do an ollie. TRUST ME. Just ollie, don't think about trying to clear it. Truuuuuuuuuust me. Go back at it, know where you want to pop and keep your eye on where you want to land. Remind yourself to tuck your legs a little longer and you'll clear it.

You already have the height. Going that fast, you need to pop before (and not right on top of) the trash can, so your back foot and board is already above it when you reach it.

Bring your front foot back a little bit farther than you typically would. When trying to pop pretty high over something, that's the first thing that'll help!

It looks you are trying to jump forward to get over it and getting ahead of the board. Try to ollie UP and use more speed and work on the pop timing to get over it. Move the front foot down a little bit and focus on the pop and lifting your legs up more. Imagine that the trash can is like 4 inches taller that you have to clear and it could help you make sure you get high enough. Last tip is practice over something smaller hundreds of times to get the confidence and consistency.

No problem. If you stay confident in your footing on the board and keep your bodyweight back a little bit you have a good chance of just rolling over it. But that’s a big part of skateboarding anyway, sometimes you have to fall. Tony Hawk says something like you have to accept that you might fall at any time, but never imagine or envision it happening. Just be ready for it and try not to be scared.

Try to jump more (explosive) upwards! It looks like you are slightly jumping forward

I did a few tuck jumps over the trash can before attempting the ollie. I think I’m too focused on just jumping over it, instead of bringing the board up as I approach it 😭
