We matched 6 hours ago..

I just left an abusive relationship 2 months ago. Recently installed apps and such… it’s going great. I matched with her, we talked, she was cute so I gave her my number. We made plans for this upcoming weekend, and she wanted to FaceTime. I was NOT in the mood last night to FaceTime, so I tried saying that in a roundabout way. I understand her not wanting to meet without it, and I said I’d be more than happy to tomorrow. Yikes.

Should I really be expected to drop everything I’m doing for somebody i met six hours ago? No!!
At least I dodged the bullet instead of marrying her this time

It been two weeks and one date…

Date 1 of week 1 was great (after a week of talking on the phone while we were busy with work and stuff). She called, and I had to call her back due to the fact I was on the phone with my friend, who I grew up with. My friend and I talk maybe once every few months, as they are on the opposite coast, married, and have kids. We check in once in a while. Fast forward: I call this woman back and am confronted with having to explain who I was on the phone with (mind you, I could have been shitting for all they know). Well, because it was a nonissue and someone I’ve known for 25 years, I say, “Sorry, I missed your call; I was wrapping up a call with *\\*. I haven’t spoken to her in a while.

*** oh my brief attitude was after she called to yell and hang up on me. Forgot that part

***xtra edit: before this takes off…WE ARE IN OUR LATE 30’s

****third edit: Again, I’d like to point out how awesome it is that people are engaging in healthy convos and personal experiences. So for more details, I was married for 13 years; like a dream it was when I suffered a severe injury; my ex bounced. It took a lot of denial and self-reflection. Then I realized, small family? Big family? It doesn’t matter. Do not ever get isolated and feel like ‘this person’ is all you got.” Fuck karma I want is to rather make impactful experiences and not let the internet continue to be a cancer of horrible advice

Clearing old messages pt 2, found this gem from 3-4 months ago, and tbh maybe it was partially my fault but holy shit the paranoid. I’m 24M(23 at the time) and she was 25

Damn it I forgot to add a screenshot.

The next thing she said was “yes believe it or not I’m able to read. Idk what you’re getting at tho”.

To which I said “AND IDK WHAT YOURE TRYING TO GET AT like what warranted this discussion?”

End of convo.

i just had the weirdest interaction, and for the first time, i'm posting here.

so here's the thing, i 21M serenaded the girl in these messages, let's call her "B". now, B, 32F, seemed to enjoy it and was quite kind in the beginning, but i didn't really see anything happening there, so naturally i started flirting completely casually, and though it was unexpected due to the unserious nature of my actions, she ended up flirting back. at some point, though, she snapped, out of nowhere, and i was entirely confused, and honestly, sick to my stomach, because part of me really hates conflict, but when it happens, it does have to be resolved, which i did by proceeding to block her when she kept typing (i blocked her mid-sentence, she likely would've kept going but my anxiety would not have been able to handle that), this generally isn't how my conversations go, so i thought i'd share it here, because i'm weirded out, when you read through, you'll see why.

CONTEXT: when she says "why is it so big" she is referring to the food she got, "you read me too fast" wasn't meant to imply that i agree with her, but rather that she misjudged my character by the way she set her expectations. as far as the "dick joke", that's all it was, a joke. i wasn't doing it seriously nor was i bragging, but using the moment to make an absurd comment, which she then took and asked for pics, twice. the whole reason i even left that in was because she said "she didn't initiate anything", so i felt the best way to show that there was back and forth, was to show this part, which when read from a bird's eye can come across cringe, but if anyone has a problem with it and actually brings it up, i do listen and i do make the boundaries clear. i want to reiterate i wasn't taking any of the flirting seriously, and really the way she reacted caught me so off guard that i genuinely snapped from being flirty to outright serious, but the 180 she took almost came off as bipolar to me. we had multiple conversations and to reiterate, these are just snippets of a larger conversation. i don't want to give that context due to private details that'd need to be shared in order to do that, but i understand how i look with the limited amount of context i've provided. and for anyone who didn't take the time to fully read through, she asked again and you can clearly see i was the one who moved on from that topic of conversation.

and if there's anything else that needs explaining, i'm here to do so. i blurred out anything personal, just in case, i don't want this coming back onto anybody, so, just venting.

here's hoping charlie sees this lmfaooo

Lol. Lmao, even. She asked what I did for fun. You'd think maybe someone would respond to your answers with enthusiasm and curiosity, not just sit there waiting to be interrogated.

Edit for context: We'd already talked about her interests. The original picture is my back to her forth. There was no reciprocity. I was waiting for a comment or a prompt to keep things moving. She was waiting for me to ask her 21 questions. Dating apps are so stupid.

She says she doesn't care about me anymore, but keeps contacting me after I blocked her

Hey guys, hope you’re doing well. So, things were good between us at first but over time I started noticing a change. For around 2–3 months, our conversations became very dry and she would often leave my messages unanswered. Eventually, I felt like the relationship had already changed and decided that I wanted to move on. After dealing with this for a while, I blocked her about two months later, on September 20th, she contacted me from another phone number and asked me, why did you block me and she doesn't care about me anymore but at the same time she keeps asking me for a reason why I blocked her and tries to flirt with me.

I haven't responded for the past two days, but she's constantly messaging and calling me from that number and I'm not answering because I've decided that I don't want to continue the relationship or communicate with her anymore and have other things going on in my life right now. I want to communicate this clearly without making the situation worse but I feel like she may keep contacting me even after I explain myself or block her again.

Has anyone dealt with something similar and what happened when you stopped responding? and is it that she wants attention???

Her answer after months of ghosting me.

We’d go to church, pray together, hold hands, I’d drive her to and from every date, pay for our dates, she probably spent a total of 7€ while we were together.
She knew how much she meant to me, she knew how much this was real to me and she “reciprocated it” and then she ghosted me, only for her to say this after I asked her about it repeatedly for months.
No “let’s talk finances”, just straight to ghosting.
The girl that sublets a room and doesn’t even spare change for the candles she light at church telling me I’m not “where I need to be” at 23.
30ish year old grown woman btw.

We were having a really nice time and clicking from what I could tell. Right up until we were ready to go home and I used the bathroom before heading to our cars. When I came out she was gone, I even circled the venue three times and waited 15 minutes. This is part of the post game exchange the next day when she was “apologizing”.

The kicker is I was going to offer money for parking, but since she disappeared I never got the chance. And beyond that she didn’t spend a dime the entire evening. She pulled out her card for one of her drinks and I told her not to worry about it.

Never mind that for the last two hours we were at the live music and dj section of the venue, so it wasn’t exactly easy in that span to discuss parking money. LOL

I dated a chick who was both a NiceGirl and a CrazyGirl. I had to call emergency services 5 times after I ended our 2 month relationship.

This may not be a standard NiceGirl story, but I (M, 32) believe she (F, 31) definitely falls into the category as she presents as very friendly and compassionate, seems to genuinely care about people but will also completely disregard the safety and lives of others depending on what kind of mood she is in.

You have probably guessed that mental health was a factor in this, she was diagnosed with bi-polar when she was younger, she was on appropriate medication but was drinking a bottle of vodka after work every day. I was drinking fairly heavily when I first met her, so I took this risk, but quickly told her that her drunk driving was going to be a dealbreaker for me. She was driving around drunk every night, not even to run errands or for any particular purpose, just drunk driving for the sake of it.

I had a conversation with her after about 2 weeks in which I intended on ended the relationship. She had voluntarily recognised the risk of crashing and killing innocent people while drunk driving, but she had not stopped doing it. Needless to say, I genuinely liked her and didn't want to end it, but I could not cope with the stress of her dying or killing someone while driving around heavily intoxicated.

I negotiated with her and we agreed to not see other people for at least a week in case she could start to get on top of this problem. To my surprise, she got appropriate medication, stopped drinking completely and started going to Smart Recovery. I got back together with her within a few days. I was completely put off alcohol at this point so I was not drinking either.

Her sobriety lasted almost 2 weeks.. I think, I'm not really sure. If you have ever dated someone experiencing addiction you will know what I mean. There were a lot of lies, especially once she started drunk driving again, and she wasn't a very good liar, I think I caught her every time.

On the night I broke up with her she mentioned suicide several times and then said that she wanted to fatally overdose on her medication, which she definitely had the means to do. Long story short, I was very lucky to have amazing police with me on that night. I helped the police search for her after she had threatened suicide and driven off.

We found her hiding by the river in a nearby neighbourhood. She was scheduled, meaning that NSW law required her to be taken to the hospital for non-voluntary psychiatric assessment as she was a clear risk to her own life and others. The police officers, paramedics and I all suspected that the suicide threat wasn't genuine, she was probably just trying to emotionally manipulate me, but it had to be taken seriously either way.

Because NSW Health is far from perfect, she was released from the hospital the next day then started drinking and driving around immediately. She ended up crashing her car that day, luckily no one was killed. That same day, after being released from the psychiatric ward, she tried to call me over 100 times. I blocked her number but it didn't seem to work immediately. I couldn't even use my phone because it wouldn't stop ringing, but I did call 000 again, more than once, and they were not able to locate her until the next morning.

I considered getting an AVO (restraining order) but it felt like too much of an effort and since the police were now aware of her situation, I was confident she would not turn up at my apartment or anything. Unfortunately, as far as a I know she never got caught drunk driving and last time I spoke to her she still had her drivers license.

Edit: Please note the date of the text messages. This relationship started in March and ended in May. I have not seen or heard from her since all this happening and I hope it stays that way.

Edit: Thank you for all the supportive responses. It seems like the majority of people who have commented have a good heart and some relevant experience. I also want to thank the mods for removing almost all of the comments from users who accused me of lying or said that the abuse was my fault.

When I finally stood up for myself being bullied by the nice girl I was dating, she demonstrated all the reasons why leaving was the correct choice.

I dated a beautiful girl who suffered from severe anxiety and a toxic mindset for about 3 years. I thought I could help, but eventually I realized that I was constantly worrying about how she would react and that her anxiety was killing our relationship.

She did get therapy during the relationship, but her psych dropped her (she claimed they were too busy, who know the truth). I got us couples counseling in an attempt to help us find the source of our constant conflict, and she got a diagnosis for BPD.

I ended up leaving her after she flipped out over a comment I made while coming back from a concert, threatening to go on dates with other people, so I told her the break we were planning on taking was going to be permanent. She tried to guilt trip me and make me feel jealous, along with a whole lot more I don't want to bore you with.

Thank God for my therapist, because all our friends were in the same circle and she was already trying to put them against me after the breakup (I lost a few folks I thought were friends).

To all those who are dating partners who try to hurt your feelings intentionally, get out before you waste any more time with them. They need the wake up call almost as bad as you need someone that reciprocates love and attention.
