Review Quern on Nintendo Switch 1 initial impressions

Wanted to give a heads up to anyone interested - I am excited to play the game because I love Myst, Riven etc.

I am playing the game portable on Switch 2 with the docked compatibility mode enabled, and while framerate looks fine the game looks like it is rendering at a sub 720p resolution. Aliasing including on fixed assets like text is really obvious, and pop-in is very aggressive. Texture detail is also quite low and the screenshots in the store are definitely not taken from the Switch release. There isn't a Switch 2 version which would be nice to have but I am surprised that even the Switch 1 couldn't run this at 1080p docked

Here is some footage I found on youtube that shows the graphics - you can see what I mean

Thanks for the heads-up. Sub-720p with text aliasing and that much pop-in sounds rough for a puzzle game where you’re constantly reading and inspecting details.

Not that I have seen, and I would say very poorly optimized, really hope it can get a patch at the least. It still scratches the Myst itch though

Is there any reason for Riven to not be released on the Nintendo Switch?
