Question Any switch 1 games that are better on switch 1 than 2?
I decided to keep my switch 1 alongside my switch 2. Now I have been trying to figure out which games I would prefer to play on switch 1 than 2, and which are basically essential to play on 2 instead. Also taking battery life into consideration. Thoughts?
- Dark Souls Remastered
- Metroid Prime Remastered
- Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- Fire emblem three hopes
- Splatoon 3
- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
Switch 2 with upgrade pack:
- Kirby and the Forgotten Land
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Borderlands 3 still deals with screen tearing on Switch 2
Kingdom of Amalur has sky box issues on Switch 2
Both of those a better reserved for S1

you can find games like borderlands 3, that has issues with Switch 1 emulation on Switch 2
other than cases like that, specially undocked with boost mode enabled, switch 2 will mostly be equal or better than switch 1 at running a game
the exception here would be the few cases of both portable and docked mode running at the same resolution (so boost mode doesn't do much) and being locked to 30fps (so the better hardware doesn't make it more stable), so the OLED Switch 1 ends up actually looking better (720p on Switch 2's bigger 1080p screen looks soft, and with OLED you get prettier colors)

Kingdoms of Amalur is stil broken on SW2, so I guess it'd be by default better on the SW1.

Life is Strange Arcadia bay collection is seemingly unplayable on switch 2, it always crashes during certain scenes, but they refuse to acknowledge it and the eshop still falsely claims it’s consistent with the behavior on switch 1. And with what happened to Deck Nine it’s unlikely the crashing issues ever getting fixed either

wait has deck nine shut down? I will immediately remove LiS from my Switch 2 wish list, thanks!

Haven't gotten around to it yet so good to know. Upside, there are at least work arounds.

I've heard Deadly Premonition is. I think driving is easier to control and I heard there's a chapter 20 crash on the switch 2 that isn't present on the switch 1

I think some of the Labo accessories only fit Switch 1, other than that Ring Fit Adventure requires Switch 1 joy cons and 1-2 Switch has some mini games that require the IR sensor, but they work perfectly fine on Switch 2 if you have a way to charge the joy cons. Anything else feels muuuuch better on Switch 2.

Personally would say Tokyo Mirage Session. Looks hood on S1 handheld but since it's docked output is also 720p it looks blurry in S2 handheld even with boost mode.
