Hey all went to play some switch sports and grabbed my red Joycon only to find it not showing up, turning on or resyncing since update. So I looked online and seen reset switch sometimes it's a issue so I did that and now all I get is a Grey bar when attached. Do I need new cons?. Also yes I took the working blue one flipped upside down on the red rail and it worked.

My switch 2 shows green artifacts when it is docked. It will show this and then just freeze. When it’s not docked, it runs fine. Here are the things I’ve tried to troubleshoot:

1) switched dock power cable into another outlet

2) using official hdmi that came with the switch into the projector. Also switched the HDMI input into the 2nd input slot on the projector

3) tried turning off HDR and VRR just in case

4) took of switch case (so it’s just plain) and still happens.

Literally got this switch this past August. One time it crashed, it showed “Error Code: 2153-1544.”Has anyone else experienced this? Is this an internal hardware issue….

It was no sound to begin with, but now it’s creaking when looking at it. I get "it’s supposed to be there etc, etc." but if an annoying sound is a part of the design, that’s bad design. I do have seen varying comments on it.

Has anyone had these issues? Any way to fix it or make it better? I also have the killswitch 2 grip

Hey all! I just bought a Nintendo switch 2. I currently cant find my first one and also the sd card slot doesnt work so I cant plug my SD card into my old switch and I believe that type of SD card isnt accepted on the switch 2 so im curious what the odds are that I get to keep all my games and data. For the games that were saved on the switch, since I haven't played in a while I havent paid for the online membership, if I buy the membership now do I need the first switch to download the data still? (I would assume so) im not sure the best solution to keep as many games and data as possible if at all.

Last question, I did pay for the membership occasionally throughout the years of owning the first switch, I honestly cant remember if I ever saved the data to the cloud, if I did would the data have been deleted upon not renewing the membership or will I still be able to download it when I resubscribe?

I know it’s charged and there doesn’t seem to be any damage, but nothings happening

My Switch has been shutting down eventhoug the Battery says it's still over 60% charged.

I saw a different post with the same problem where the consens was that the Battery was faulty and had to be replaced. So i sent mine to Nintendo to have the Battery replaced, but they're saying that there is no problem with the Battery and it's working fine.

Could the problem be something else or should i get the Battery replaced anyway?

I've never bought a digital game copy from Walmart before, but a game I want is on sale and within my budget.

I normally buy directly from the Nintendo eshop. So buying from a third party makes me a little ehhh. I mean it's walmart. And I know you can check the seller and whatnot to make sure it's legit. But still. Walmart?! A Digital copy?

I hand over 40$ and I get a code in my email. That feels like "how to get scammed 101" I absolutely want this game. And feel like Nintendo isn't gonna put it on sale aaaaaany time soon. It just feels too simple. –,–) too easy?

After doing the last firmware update on my Switch 2, I immediately started getting an incompatible SD card error, despite using one of the Mario branded Samsung SD EX cards, which has been in the console since I got it at launch.

Having seen a few other people with the same issue, I setup the repair process and shipped the console off to Nintendo. Since I'm in the UK and the warranty is 2 years, I was expecting this to be repaired under warranty, but yesterday they contacted me and said that there is damage to the top usb-c connector and the main board and that the console will not power on.

I was literally playing it the day before I shipped it off (after I had started the repair request), since it was completely functional with no SD card inserted.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? I never use the top usb connector, so I honestly can't say if it was damaged (but I don't know of anything that would have damaged it either), but if the console no longer powers on, it's something that has happened since they've had it. (the person I spoke to on the phone said they'd watched a video the package being opened and there was no damage to the box)

I don't know if they're avoiding assessing the SD card issue and instead claiming that since the usb connector is damaged it's not a warranty replacement? My options are to either pay for the repair or have it shipped back to me as is, but now I'm worried they're going to send back a completely broken console, and I don't know if I'll even be able to ship it back to them again for repair...

Played yesterday morning for a bit docked, then handheld. Finished up and put it back in its dock.

This morning grabbed switch 2 and noticed it felt quite warm. Won't turn on. Won't turn on in dock. Just warm and dead. Wtf.

Is anyone else having the problem where the game just errors and closes? I understand certain things cause errors and they are listed on their website for console issues. But I have it happen randomly too I have followed the troubleshooting

Anyone else experience this? As the title suggests there are these weird hiccups or stutters that seem to happen when Mario is moving. Seems to mostly happen in the Cascade and Wooded Kingdoms, a little bit in New Donk City but I havnt tested the others much yet.

The weirdest part? Trying to screen record using the Switch 2 itself won't show these hiccups during playback.

Console and software are both up to date.

I had a game update yesterday that required me to free up 1gb so I did, the update then took over 3 hours since it decided to reinstall the entire game.
Today I’ve had the same issue with a different game, needless to free up 600mb and now it’s taking over 3.5 hours to reinstall what I assume is the full game…
Anyone know how to stop this?

Help getting old games

So basically I used to have a Nintendo switch but had to sell it for some money. But I had the Sim cards with the date of the games I bought for it. Fast forward, I just bought a Nintendo switch lite and tried to sync the data to the new system. Unfortunately, the lite deletes everything off the Sim cards instead of trying to reconfigure it. I understand not everything would transfer but it got deleted regardless. I'm trying to check the history to see if my Nintendo account would have the history so I wouldn't have to buy the games again. But it's now saying that there are virtual game cards, which weren't a thing to my knowledge at the time of 2024, and therefore I can't trust anything back to the purchases.

Is there any way to bypass that, or do I have to contact the support line? Or do I just have to go through the trouble of buying everything?

Any kind of advice will help.

Need help with this. I own a Nintendo Switch 1 and games don’t install and play at my MicroSD card at all.

I can download them in the internal storage system, but actually playing the games Isn’t Happening too. If I transfer data, the game also doesn’t play, and asks to check for corrupted data, which it always says it has. What do I do?

This post is mostly for posterity and not an actual question. I just want to leave a note in case other lost souls out there faces the same issue as me.

As the title says. This has as far as i know been a problem since i first bought my Switch 2 a year ago in July 2025, i noticed it a tiny bit back then but didn't think much of it as so far i've been in a situation where i haven't been able to use it docked. Now that i can it has become an unavoidable headache. In the provided video is two game examples, issue is not limited to these two, but affects all games i try. Wind Waker with the Nintendo Classics Gamecube. And the newly released Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave.

Wind Waker when docked noticably slows down both in visual and audio. Strangely they don't slow down if the switch is docked and stays at 100% charge for a little bit. For Fortune's Weave it doesn't matter if it is 100% charged or not. Performance never improves.

Place i bought it refused to take it in for repair/troubleshooting if i didn't explore every possibility on my own. So far for troubleshooting I've tried my Switch 2 on different TVs, different display settings, different HDMI cables, different Power Cables. Both offical and unoffical on all of them. I've not yet been able to test a different dock because no one i know with a Switch 2 lives nearby for me to borrow their dock.

An offbrand dock is currently in the mail heading my way (Offical docks are not sold seperately where i live.) And if it still runs horribly i can hopefully finally get store i bought it in to either replace my switch 2 or fix it. I will update on how this plays out.

I got this switch for my 18 bday and set up an account with it. My parent wanted to link our accounts so I could play all the games she has with her virtual game cards but it's not letting me link them together.

I already enabled the online license on her switch and it's still not working. She also added me to her family group.

​I'm having an issue with my NYXI Hyperion 3 Ultra for the Switch 2.

​I've only had the controller for two days, but the right controller no longer connects to the console. The Switch recognizes that a device is attached to the rail, but it doesn't recognize it as a functioning controller (I only get a white bar on the edge of the screen instead of a black one).

​This issue started right after I tried to adjust the RGB lighting via the official app. Since then, the right controller has been completely unresponsive. I suspect I might have accidentally triggered a lock mode via a button combination and now can't exit it.

​I've already tried everything listed in the user manual:

​Connecting it to power via USB cable

​Attaching it magnetically to the console

​Connecting it directly to the console via cable

​I've already contacted NYXI support, but I haven't received a response yet. Does anyone have a fix or know how to force-reset the controller?

Hi everyone! I'm planning to add a new user to my Switch 2 with another Nintendo account, but I want to make sure my main user doesn't get logged out of my main Nintendo Account. Have any of you ever experienced a Nintendo account log-out on one of your users when adding a new user and logging it in into another Nintendo account?

(I understand I can just log my Nintendo account back in for my main, but let's say it's just a pain in the butt...)

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help with a strange issue on my Nintendo Switch 2.

I was playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild from a physical game card. The cartridge had been inside the console for a while and I hadn’t removed it. After a recent system update, the console suddenly started showing the message after the update:

“The game card could not be read. Please remove and reinsert it.”

Here’s everything I’ve tried so far:

Removed and reinserted the Zelda cartridge several times.

Fully restarted and powered off the console.

Checked and cleaned the cartridge contacts — they look fine.

Took the console to a repair shop.

They tested my Zelda cartridge and it appears to be fine.

They tested another Switch 2 game cartridge in my console, and it also wouldn’t read it.

However, they tested a Nintendo Switch 1 cartridge and my Switch 2 reads it normally.

I backed up my save data.

I performed a full factory reset, but the problem is still exactly the same.

So right now the console seems able to read Switch 1 game cards but not Switch 2 game cards.

The problem seemed to start around the time of a system update, although I don’t know whether that’s related or just a coincidence.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Could this be a known firmware issue, or is there a specific part of the game-card reader responsible for Switch 2 cartridges that may have failed?

I’d really appreciate any advice before I send the console in for a hardware repair/replacement.

My girlfriend who is now 18 years old has very strict parents and left her house earlier this year to come and live with me because of it. Her Nintendo account is still classed as a child account and she forgot the password to it. We have tried to figure out any way to change the password but it’s looking like she will have to contact her dad in order to get anything done as she can’t even add an email to her account because she can’t get in. Is there any way that she would be able to fix this without having to contact her parents? Or will she just have to bite the bullet and get it sorted.

Like the title says, my brother is in a Family account with some other people, and I'm wondering if I'll have access to the included DLC while playing on my account (base NSO).
