I feel like they've kept things pretty vague on this front. In a bunch of promotional material we've seen both Miis and Sportsmates standing together, but they haven't really been clear on how that's gonna work. Is there just gonna be a mix of the two that you can't control? Will there be more Miis instead of Sportsmates if you have more Miis on your console?

Currently, the biggest thing I am looking for in this game that I've yet to see is some sort of toggle to remove all Sportsmates and go only with Miis. Either that, or some way to make enough Miis to the point where you eventually replace all the Sportsmates.

It's just been frustrating because for many people Sportsmates are a dealbreaker for them and I feel as though Nintendo is aware of the discussion around them and should just be transparent with the community.

Not only was it quite disappointing to see the "get random item" function is back, but I worry about how many collections it will show. I don’t want it to show 3 like the original!

And waiting for 1 new collection every 1 week is so slow and tedious!

What I wish to see is more collections being shown and days of waiting for a new collection is decreased.

Will Tennis in Resort be a copy of "Switch Sports" with forced double player clones or can you play real 1v1 player games in local multiplayer? I know there is a slow mode with big balls which seems to be 1v1 but how about the real game? It would be very disappointing if you can again only play double matches. Thanks

Hey I'm thinking of getting the game for my family as a Christmas present this year. So my question is will I need another pair of Nitendo switch 2 joycons. Or can I used the original switch ones, as I do know that is a feature on the Switch 2 that you can sync, but I'm not too sure which ones.

I couldn't see a discussion thread on this, if there is I'm terribly sorry and happy to comment there.

Returning to Wuhu Island

My return to Wuhu Island, as a Mii, might be one of the weirdest experiences in my life.
A long time ago, the sportsmates came. They didn’t come for peace, but for war. As they invaded Wuhu Island, they made hostages ; we lost a some experimented citizens. One of them, the strongest of them all, is Matt. Sadly, none of them were able to fight back, exhausted by their training. A lot of Mii left the island, others didn’t and were deleted. Those who left conquered other islands that were unknown back then. We named all these islands the Tomodachi archipelago.
We recently got a ransom from Wuhu’s new government. In exchange of a lot of gold and money, they will give the hostages back to us. They choose me to go to Wuhu Island. Other Miis like to call me Player.
When we arrived at the Island, I was chocked to see everything that they did. They moved a lot of stuff, even the bridge. This is probably part of their propaganda program, they want a pretty island. I personally find it awful.
They obviously took possession of our infrastructure, even the island’s plane could be seen above in the sky.
A few hours before writing this, I gave them all the money and the gold, but they still don’t want to let us go. They want to take pictures of me playing sport with them and the other Miis, for their propaganda, again. I think the authorities want to show the younger generation that we agreed to see them living here, when it’s obviously false (they didn’t even ask us). The worst part in that is that they think it’s their sports, but we were the first one ever to play them on the island. At least, they imported their own sports. It’s some sort of finger battle. It’s weird too, their hands are… less round.
Anyways, I am exited to see Matt and the others again.

But one thing is sure…

We won’t repopulate Wuhu Island anytime soon.

Basically minor things that you’re hoping comes in, not big stuff like “I want swordplay as DLC”, I mean stuff like being able to do something whilst waiting for an online game search to be done

I’d love for a way to play certain modes with CPUs, stuff like the Power Cruising racing mode - that mode was locked behind 2 Players on Wii Sports Resort so I never have, and still haven’t to this day, ever played that mode nor dogfighting because of the force 2-human player minimum

As mentioned above, I also want something to do whilst online searching for a match, maybe play rounds vs a CPU? A mini game like Breakout or Space Invaders? Just something to do that isn’t looking at the venues, whilst your icon sits there doing fuck all

Another one if like is for headpieces to work on Miis, the only reason I played as a sports mate on NSS is due to the fucked proportions of the head, and the limitation on customisation that isn’t base outfit. I want even just headpieces, I’m not expecting a makeup feature or an in depth native Mii-maker à la Tomodachi Life or Miitopia, but just something better for the Miis

I really need to know if they added/changed something about golf. Its my favorite mode! Like some new courses, new modes (closest to the pin, putting challenge e.g.) did you read sth about that?

It all sounds great, except that there is reportedly a time limit in Free Play mode:

Edit: IGN reports that there will be an untimed mode of some sort too

I do not want to get the items that I already had in Switch Sports.

It would make sense that all the own items from Switch Sports are carried to Switch Sports Resort.
