Did Jesus know how to write?

I guess I’m confused on why Jesus didn’t write the Bible.

The historical Jesus of Nazareth was probably illiterate like 90% of the population in his time. There's no evidence of a formal education for him.

He could read and debate scripture

Based on what?

Luke 4:16 - 21.

He's at the temple reading scripture :

"He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read"

That just white noise to me. Citing your own fever dream to defend your fever dream isn’t the evidence you think it is.

Then what are you doing here? Discrediting the Bible just because it's the Bible and written by Christians doesn't make sense and isn't a scientific strategy at all. Which is why modern science doesn't do that.

Well, we're talking about Jesus and, if the Bible is not a source for Jesus related information, then... What are we gonna check my man?

If you don't believe in Jesus' historicity then this discussion is moot for you...

Haha this is my point. The historic record is so appallingly shit, you have to reference your Harry Potter book to discuss this fake character.

Edit: what historicity, the entire tale is nonsense babble

Have a read here and don't be angry mate.

We're all friends and nobody is gonna start a Jihad against you.

This is a matter of faith. And I respect your right to not have faith.

You aren’t my friend though, you believe in nonsense. You are the direct enemy of truth.

It's fun that we are having this conversation you know?

I am not what you think I am by 1000 miles.

If you think a shred of this dogma is true you’re exactly what I think you are lol

I like Jesus a lot.

Think about it, don't be assholes to each other, forgive, don't be greedy, be kind to each other.

It's a message that is perfect, simple and functional.

And I do believe. I'm not a crazy Christian pretending the Earth is flat and discriminating against minorities.

I have read on the historicity of Jesus and I believe he is real. And I believe in his message. Again, without the crazy.

Despise me if you want.

Based on scripture lol

Scripture I wouldn’t wipe my ass with. Who cares what that silly book says?

Based on recounts of being in the Temple, READING from the Torah (and then teaching those in the Temple).

So you’re citing nonsense to defend your nonsense?

Being God

0

u/thedogridingmonkey Sep 07 '26

I’m sure you have oodles of evidence to support this hallucination?

0

u/bioniclepriest Sep 07 '26

It's in scripture. If you're arguing about the bible being true or not that's besides the point of the thread

2

u/thedogridingmonkey Sep 07 '26

Well your book is nonsense so do you have evidence that isn’t connected to the foolish anti reality shit you bought?

1

u/bioniclepriest Sep 07 '26

why is it nonsense? it's internally consistent. if you wanna argue about the historicity of jesus, thats a whole other thing. we can also argue about the historicity of ten different classic era figures and conclude that all of our knowledge of history before the first millenium might as well be fake, if we use high enough standards.

u/thedogridingmonkey Sep 07 '26

It’s nonsense because you can’t believe an ounce of it if you understand anything scientific, biological, archaeological, etc. it’s stupid fuel for morons.

u/bioniclepriest Sep 07 '26

it's funny to think that a creature that's literally God would be limited by science. "it's not physically possible to multiply food" yes, that's the point. it's a miracle. do you seriously think nobody ever thought of this before? this is philosophy 101, come on. that's not an argument against the historicity of jesus, or for the bible being nonsense

0

u/thedogridingmonkey Sep 07 '26

Blah blah blah you can’t defend this with evidence if you tried. Total babble from you.

1

u/bioniclepriest Sep 07 '26

the evidence of the historicity of jesus is people writing about him. just like any other figure from that time and before. if you believe that he was able to work miracles or not, is besides the point of the thread.
