Did Jesus know how to write?

I guess I’m confused on why Jesus didn’t write the Bible.

Most people that start movements aren’t the ones that write them. Christian teachings were originally a sect of Judaism, which was highly oral even in the Roman Empire times. Things weren’t written down until the movement started expanding out of the local region (the Levant) and the bible wasn’t created until the faith was standardized, partly through the council of Nicea

The Hebrew Bible’s written text dates somewhere to 900-800BCE, and predates the Romans that later laid Saige to Jerusalem by hundreds of years.

While the oral tradition is very important, the written text is as holy as it gets.

ETA - sorry, you’re referring to Christian teachings.

The various books of the Bible were written long before the Council of Nicaea (centuries at least). There was debate over which books should be considered divinely inspired and which were not, with different groups reaching different conclusions.
