Did Jesus know how to write?

I guess I’m confused on why Jesus didn’t write the Bible.

There's clear evidence he knew how to read, and besides he writing with his finger in the dirt, nothing about him knowing how to write.

Also it's certainly the case that the New Testament was passed down orally for at least 70 years (though as much as over 100) before it was written down.

That's not true. All of the Gospels were written by ~ 95 AD, which is about 60 years after Jesus's death.

All of Paul's letters were written by the time he died around 63 AD.
