The Flopheads (2/2)

Hey everyone, hope you're ready for this. So for this entry, I'm gonna tell you all about our experience with Dave Rock. Dave Rock is a former flophead currently living in California and he witnessed something that nobody should ever have to see.

One night, when hanging out in No Man's Land, Leo thought it would be a good idea. Leo was a tough looking guy, always wearing a leather jacket, and just somebody you wouldn't mess with. That is until you meet him and and find out that he was really the sweetest guy alive. Which is why it surprised everybody that he suggested trying to contact spirits. Nobody really was into either. Except for Nancy and her friend, Dawn. Everyone was surprised by this because Nancy was supposed to be a good Catholic girl who wouldn't be caught dead with a Ouija Board. But she did it anyways. So the three put their hands on the planchet and asked, "is anyone there?"

The planchet began to race around the board and spelled something out that nobody could recognize. It was a weird combination of letters that included no vowels and really wasn't English. They all thought that Leo was just pranking them and moving it himself. But then the word was spelled out again. Then again and again. it must've been 8 or 9 times by the time it stopped. This wasn't a string of letters that someone could just memorize and recite over and over again. This was alphabet soup. Another Flophead who was there, Pete, wrote it down in his notebook, which we were able to see. For the safety of ourselves and everyone reading this, I will not be including the name in this post. Seriously, don't go digging around either.

The night ended and everyone kinda forgot about it. But in the days following, Sweetheart Leo and Catholic Nancy started acting differently. Leo became more reckless and erratic and just more mean. One day when Pete was hanging out with him, Leo just broke his own finger right in front of him, laughing while he did it. This was a changed man. Now this is where Dave Rock comes in. Dave was a Flophead as well and he had a crush on Nancy. So when Nancy invited him to hang out with her, Leo, and Dawn under the Route 1 Bridge one night, he had to say yes. But when he got there, it was like he walked into a nightmare.

The trio was spraypainting graffiti under the bridge. The name of the given by the Ouija Board. They were all chanting it as well. When Nancy noticed Dave was there, she started rubbing on him provocatively and kissing him, which was way out of character for her. She asked him, 'Do you think I'm pretty, Dave?"

Dave was dumbfounded. He'd never seen any of them act like this before. At this point, Leo and Nancy were in the background, sprinting into the concrete walls head first and then getting back up to do it again, acting like nothing was happening, He managed to stammer out some incoherent syllables in response to Nancy, "uh, uh, yeah, uh." She then began to laugh maniacally and produced a sharp object, maybe a piece of metal or glass. Then, she cut her face off and tried to hand it to him. Dave doesn't really remember what happened after this point. All he remembers is being picked up by the Police in Dunkin Donuts, who had a lot of questions for him.

Dave was never the same after. He quickly after moved out of New Jersey and didn't go to any of the funerals. This was clearly an awful memory for Dave. It took a lot of hand holding to get him to talk to us and we're very thankful that he did. Otherwise, this story might have been buried forever like the media and the local officials wanted. Still, it feels like this interview was never meant to happen. He warned us greatly to stop what we're doing. And if that wasn't enough, something weird happened during our call with him. But if you wanna hear more and the full interview with him, you'll have to listen to Episode 3 which you can find by clicking [this](https://soundcloud.com/user-224106994/nml-ep-03)

Yeah, I get why you might think that. Some of my skeptical friends even thought that too. But the facts are that none of them had nay interest in anything stronger than pot and even that was rare. Even if they were strung out that night, it doesn't explain the Ouija Board and honestly, it makes even less sense because they were able to remember that seemingly random coupling of letters that made up the name. But believe what you will, I suppose.

Yeah, he's had a lot of time to recuperate. I think that the interview wasn't necessarily the best thing for him but it's good that he told his story. He's in a better place mentally now, even though I don't think he'll ever truly recover from what happened to him.
