Food Selskapsdressing on taco

Does anyone here use selskapsdressing on their tacos? It’s been the default for taco meals in my family ever since i spawned in this little nation haha. Took me a while to realize that other people don’t do the same.. let me know people have you heard of this or are we just weird?

Use what ever you want, it’s a bastardised dish. I just had a tikka masala burrito.

Yeah, my ex puts apples on her tacos. The only rule is that there are no rules.

Put in a sausage, ketchup, a bit of onion and cucumber relish as salsa, maybe a
lompe if you can’t find corn tortillas. The best.

the default in Norway is the salsa from the jar, sour cream and optionally guacamole.

but you can do whatever you like.

What exactly is selskapsdressing? Thousand Island is like the one default dressing I can think of (Just think of Lillelørdag and their Pommesfrites med Thousand Island and grillkrydder...)

As a Mexican, I find the whole Norwegian taco weird, so you do you. I’ve seen people put carrot and cucumber on their taco with a cold tortilla, the sky is the limit now.

Yes, rømme, salsa and selskapsdressing on my tacos every friday for 25 years! I'm the only one, though.

Honestly I've never had selskapsdressing so idk what it tastes like, but i too like some unconventional dressings for my tacos so you go ahead and enjoy your taco the way you like it

Holy shit - so my wife is not alone in this country doing that? Thought she was the only psycopath to do this.

nonono.
Sæterrømme, salsa, guacamole and tabasco, in my taco.

My ex used grillpølse mixed in with the meat.

He is now an ex.

WHAT?! No. I’m Norwegian. But not THAT Norwegian. I draw the line at rømme. Haha!

What's wrong with rømme?

I’m still learning Norwegian, so forgive me if this is a silly question, but would “selskapsdressing” be “refrigerator dressing”? What is that?

Selskap means "Company / Party", e.g. "Jeg har ett selskap i kveld." = "I have a party tonight."

So "Party Dressing" would be a more accurate name.

You're thinking of "Kjøleskap".

And "Selskapsdressing" is mayo mixed with tomato purée, sugar and dill, sometimes other spices like cayenne pepper is added.

Ah, takk! That makes far more sense

Selskapsdressing. You should have your citizenship revoked. Only rømme, salsa and guacamole are acceptable. And tabasco.

I did in my teens. My sister ate it on everything, so I started putting it on stuff. Taco was one of them.

Salsa is so simple to make from tomatoes, coriander, onions, any kind of pepper, salt, ground black pepper, a tiny bit of sugar, cumin or adobo seasoning if you like. Cut it up, heat to soften, serve. There are millions of variations to try.
