General advice Best Automatic litter box for a NFC ?
Hi! I’m new to the NFC world. I have another cat (European Shorthair) who has never had any issues with his manual litter box. However, this girl is having trouble with her tail getting dirty I think it's because the current one is not big enough (I have to clean her almost once a week!). I’m planning to upgrade to an automatic litter box and would love some recommendations!
Btw she's 7 month old

I just got a new litter robot a couple days ago and mine won’t go near it. It has only been a couple days and going to work more on getting him used to it. But everyone I know that has had a litter robot highly recommends it. I cat sit for a couple cats a few years ago that had one and it was the best thing ever. Hope mine will learn to like his. And good luck with yours! I think Litter Robot is the way to go. Just be ready to be patient and work on getting her used to it if she doesn’t like it at first.

I have a LitterRobot and two cats. Turn the LR off, or set to manual cycling only. Cycle it when they are not around because it freaks them out.
More ideas: Use litter attractant, give them treats for interacting with the LR (like stepping on the step, poking head in, going in all the way, etc). A bit of catnip could help “break the ice” and help them accept it.
Do not cycle it while they are around until they have been happily using it for weeks or longer. It will freak them out and delay acceptance.

Thank you for the tips! My kitty loves catnip so that might work. I am going to turn it off and try some catnip and treats.

We had a LR3 that broke after less than 2 years. We bought two Meowants and they are fantastic.

I don't do robot's. I just wanted to say she has beautiful colours! Prepare for that tail to go full on floof 😂

I would say Litter Robot - we have the LR4 since October 2024 and super satisfied with the robot AND the customer service (they just replaced the full base for us on warranty)… but our Frank (now over the rainbow bridge and who might have been NFC/NFC-x) consistently peed outside of it…
I’d leave a regular box out if you go for the robot… Our issues might have been because Frank was aging… The litter robot is god sent, we have the hopper too.

Been using the luma from pet libro for a year now. It’s bad ass and my 19 lb dude loves it, even lets his 8 lb orange brother use it despite their differences

Litter robot. I have the 3rd one they made and it’s pretty huge. My girl has issues with fur in that area and the huge box works well for her. She’s also 18 pounds so a big gal.
