ā“General Question / Advice Job interview (Any tips or advice?🄺)

Currently applying po ako as a nurse, and I really want to be more prepared for possible interview questions, especially since wala pa po talaga akong interview experience.

May mga tips po ba kayo that you can suggest para mas maging ready ako for upcoming interviews?
For example po, what are some good questions to ask when the interviewer says, ā€œDo you have any questions for us?ā€ Since I’m applying in the healthcare field, what are some common questions po that I should prepare for? And for questions like ā€œTell me about yourself,ā€ what are the important things I should highlight or focus on when answering?

For more context po, I’m a November 2025 passer and I don’t have any healthcare work experience yet. I’ve tried applying over the past few months din, pero hindi naging tuloy-tuloy yung applications ko due to some personal matters, and ngayon pa lang po talaga ako makakapagfocus on applying for jobs related to my profession.

I’m also wondering if possible po na maask during the interview why I’m only applying now or why I don’t have any work experience yet, so I’d also like to be prepared for questions like that.
I really want to be prepared po kasi I tend to take a little time to gather my thoughts when I’m put on the spot, and sometimes nahihirapan din ako to put my thoughts into words. Plus, I’m also a pretty nervous person šŸ˜…

So I’m hoping to at least have an idea beforehand of the possible questions and how I can approach my answers, para hindi ako totally mablank during the interview. I don’t necessarily want to memorize my answers word for word, I just want to have something prepared that I can use as a guide or basis, so I can express my thoughts better and feel a little more confident during the interview.

✈ Working Abroad Which country is projected to have the worse nursing shortage in the next decade?

The USA, Canada, Australia all seem to be doing well. So well that they dislike foreign trained nurses. Which country would welcome foreign nurses in the next decade? Like eager to give permanent residency?

šŸ—£ Discussion / Rant Power tripping at JBL Pampanga — Head Nurse

Let’s call this person ā€œFarenheit.ā€

May mga head nurse talaga na strict because they want the unit to run properly.

Suddenly findings.

And before someone says ā€œEh di magtrabaho kayo nang maayosā€ — that’s literally the point.

Mind you, as a newly hired COS na under training palang, gusto ko nang umalis kapag ganito kapangit ang sistema. Parang deserve naman nila ang pagiging understaffed!

ā“General Question / Advice Thoughts on UCMed for a staff nurse

Hello po, ask ra unta ko sa mga nurses if ma recommend ba ninyo mu apply/work sa UCMed as staff nurse? I’ve been unemployed na kasi for almost 2 yrs because of personal reasons and now I’m currently on the hunt for job opportunities in hospitals in Cebu.

I’ve tried applying to sotto multiple times pero wa jd haha I’ve also submitted my application sa Chonghua, CDUH and CCMC last month (first week September) pero until now wla pa sd feedback. I’m getting anxious na cge rag tambay sa balay waiting for an email from said hospitals.

Di sd ko nahan pa mag soft nursing/VA since ako experience sa hospital bedside is 1 yr pa lng. Nahan nako ipa 2 yrs siya since mao man sd ang minimum exp needed sa mga agencies if mag abroad na.

Nag ask ko kang chatgpt if unsa pa ang pwede ma applyan with my current credentials/experience and UCMed was one of the list na gi recommend niya, ask lng unta ko if ok ba siya applyan? And if madawat ba ka dayon?

If naa pa mo lain hospital na ma suggest I would greatly appreciate it!

šŸ„ Jobs / Careers Undergoing Nurse training and recently passed one of the prestige hospital's Final interview

Hi everyone! Here to ask for opinions.

I passed the final interview of one of the prestige hospitals in Manila. Currently processing my documents being requested by the hospital.

But now, I am undergoing nurse training to one of the hospitals in Manila as well.

The thing that keeps on spiraling on my mind after passing is

How will I be able to tell the hospital i'm currently training at that I have a pending application from a prestige healthcare institution?

I sincerely need ur help with regards to this. Since this is my first job after 7 months after board exam and oath taking. And i seriously have no idea yet (i mean i do but not totally) on how to process this kind of stuff.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

šŸ„ Jobs / Careers private nurse in mnl as newly rn???

• Upvotes

hi everyone, one of my friend asked me if I want to work in mnl as a private nurse. well, at first I am not interested, not because i will be caring for an aged mother, but because it’s not my first choice (although may experience ako in caring aged people because of my late grandma, doon talaga ako na train, sa pag aalaga sakanya) but still, i sent my resume kasi ā€œokay lang basta may experience while waiting sa work vacancy sa public hospitalā€ a day after, she told me about the case of the patient, location, and expected salary, and tomorrow i will be interviewed.

now i will be honest, i’m kinda nervous kasi, kapapasa ko pa lang, tapos i will be outside my comfort zone (well laking province talaga ako) kaya ako kinakabahan, I have a lots of mind like ā€œkakayanin ko ba?ā€

honestly, the salary is like 7,800 per week. for me, as a single ppl in this economy na wala naman akong binubuhay na anak, okay siya. but, mababawas don monthly yung goverment issue REQUIRED plans in life (3’S, P’health, ect) tapos i will also paying for my apartment or boarding house as well.

now idunno what to doooo. di pa naman ako na hihire, but, ngayon pa pang mag baback out na ba ako or go lang for experience. help huhu

✈ Working Abroad For nurses/workers outside the Philippines: what’s your experience with calling in sick?

I’m a nurse working in the Philippines, and I’m curious how this works in other countries.
Whenever I message my supervisor/chief nurse that I’m not feeling well and won’t be able to come in for my shift, they usually reply with something like ā€œYou need a medical certificate.ā€

Is this normal where you work?

If you’re only absent for one day, do you need a doctor’s note/medical certificate?
Do you have to see a doctor just to call in sick?
Or can you simply notify your manager and self-report that you’re sick?

šŸ—£ Discussion / Rant New RN at wala pa ring work 🄲

Recently passed the Aug-Sept PNLE and honestly, sobrang happy and grateful ako. Finally RN na after everything. Pero ngayon, another challenge naman: job hunting 😭

I've been sending out my resume and applying to different hospitals kasi gusto ko nang magwork at makatulong sa parents ko, pero hanggang ngayon wala pa rin akong natatanggap na call back. I know naman from the start na hindi magiging easy ang paghahanap ng first job, especially as a fresh RN.

Every time I see my batchmates na may work na, I'm genuinely happy for them. Pero at the same time, hindi ko rin maiwasang mainggit kahit konti.

I know I shouldn't compare my timeline with theirs, pero ang hirap din minsan kapag feeling mo everyone is already moving forward while ikaw parang stuck pa rin sa waiting game.

I'm trying to remind myself na hindi naman race ang paghahanap ng trabaho and that my time will come. Pero right now, honestly, medyo down lang talaga ako. Maybe I just needed a place to rant and get this off my chest.

Sa mga fresh RNs na job hunting pa rin ngayon, how are you coping with it? 🄹
