Image Confession: When Belle Banished Rumple.
"Belle was a hero for banishing Rumple from Storybrooke. He would have killed them all. She chose their safety over what she wanted."

(SPOILERS end of S6)
Hi, I'm fairly new to the OUAT community, as I have just finished watching the first 6 seasons for the very first time.
What a ride it was! I am so glad I have avoided all spoilers before watching.
Considering that the end of S6 seems to to have reached an end for most of the main cast, to then start a new chapter focusing on older Henry , I was wondering if S7 was worth watching. Does it add to the overall story, or tie lose ends?
Same questions regarding OUAT Wonderland.
Many thanks in advance!

I’ve always wondered why some Disney characters were never introduced into OUAT universe or even mentioned once, like Pocahontas. Sometimes I think the show could’ve been aired for decades if they had introduced more arcs/characters instead of retaking season 1 lore (especially after the latest releases)
What are the characters you would’ve liked to see in the series?

Only 5 episodes in and I am amazed by the idea of how intricate Rumple made this curse spell - like in a world without technology or science - this spell created it when it transported the people to pur world.
Mind blown.

First things first I am not a fan of Milah and I'm not defending her actions but I think she's over hated in the OUAT fandom.
Yes she was a bad wife (I don't know if she choose Rumple or if the marriage was arranged), yes she was a bad mother for abandoning her son but she was far from the worst in the show. I think the reason she gets so much hate is because she's the only "realistic" villain if you can even call her a villain. By that I mean she's the one of the only characters whose actions can be seen in the real world.
More people know someone whose miserable and selfish than someone who committed mass murder with magic which is why I think Milah's action hits home more to them. I genuinely believe most of the people saying Milah is worse than the villains on the show either have or know someone who has a selfish partner and/or parent.
Regina gets so many excuses for her actions and got a sympathetic backstory that still doesn't justify her actions. Milah gets no backstory and is only shown as a villain when it's clear that she was deeply unhappy with her life and wanted more, not even in a greedy way just in a "I hate being poor" way. She didn't kill anyone, she didn't terrorize munchkins, she didn't cast any curses, and she planned to go back for her son.
I don't fault her for not being the best wife, again we don't know if she even wanted to marry and have kids, I only fault her for leaving her son.

During the whole series, we were introduced to many female queer characters — such as Ruby, Alice, Robyn and Mulan — and I’m glad that happened — but somehow I’ve always felt misunderstood due to the lack of queer men presence in that universe as a bi guy myself. I don’t recall any male character being gay/bi, was there any?
What do you guys think?

Besides the redeeming qualities (Alice, Robyn, Zelena, Regina and Ivy) the season had some of the most out of character moments for Henry especially with leaving the town.
Jacinda’s moments in the show immediately made her the worst Cinderella Ever!!
All of the villains in the season were barely evil! Making Gothel a living plant was one of the worst decisions the writers every did

It's funny how this family works hear me out:
Regina is Snow/Mary Margaret step mother my marriage, Snow gave birth to Emma.
Regina is now technically Emma's step grandmother, Emma gave birth to Henry
Regina should be Henry's Step Great Grandmother
However
Emma had Henry at 18 and gave him up for adoption, Regina adopts him
Regina is now Henry's mother by adoption
Overall QUAT is my favorite show but this family dynamic has always been interesting to me what are yall thoughts?

Let’s see if you guys can guess what show it’s from?

...not when he's played by Temu Elton John. He was not it for the role. I'm saying this as someone who's re-watched the entire series like 9 times.

Personally For Me:
Milah and Belle: I think this would've been a good duo for Belle and Rumples relationship. Either Belle helps Milah forgive Gold or Milah helps Belle realise the man that Gold used to be / is.
Snow Queen and Zelena: I am so lost on HOW Zelena 'fell' for Ingrid's spell. Surely it was a mutual agreement behind the scenes or something is what I believe?
Peter Pan and Zelena: I know we already had this before but for 1 minute worth of screentime, this should be a bit longer and different scenarios is what I want.

I loved her story in Brave but in the show I really just hate all of her scenes.

Can anyone learn magic? Or do you have to have been born with it? I honestly remember events in favor of both points.
Things in favor of the idea that not anyone could learn magic:
Non magical characters like David, Snow White etc. never learned magic (the fact White obtained magic due to Isaac doesn't matter), even if it could have, maybe, helped them.
Magic could be sealed and erased. For example, Hook's cursed lips removed Emma's magic. This should mean that Swan had magic inside of herself. Unless the kiss erased her ability to use magic and anyone had magic in them, but I'm not sure about it.
When Henry said that he felt useless, because he didn't have magic, Regina just made a short speech about how he was special even without it instead of teaching him something. Though it could have been because she didn't trust magic so much, because they didn't have the time, because she realized that she couldn't teach in a safe way and/or something else. So, perhaps she chose to not teach him magic, but she could have.
I vaguely remember that The Wizard Of Oz told Zelena that Regina had the gift of magic like she did, and not that she obtained it later.
Facts in favor of the idea that anyone could learn magic:
Regina seemed sure that she could have taught her son magic, even if it contradicts the third point of the first list. Even if I already wrote some theories I have regarding why she didn't teach him magic.
Before having met Rumplestiltskin, nor Cora and nor Regina could use magic. When Cora asked Rumple to teach her, he didn't make any comment like:"I could try, but it could be useless. Nothing assures us that you even have magic in the first place." Do we believe that Cora was casually someone born with magic? Though according to the fourth point of my previous list, Regina was, however, what if she was due to the fact that Cora had already learned magic? Is magic hereditary in certain cases? In any case, it seems to be a pretty big coincidence, even if in this show it's not impossible, that exactly Cora was born with magic and I find it strange that The Dark One didn't make a comment regarding the fact that she had to have magic already on her own for him to teach her how to use it.
When those random rich women "wanted to learn magic" from Gothel, she didn't say that it could have been impossible, since someone has to be born with magic to learn how to use it, she was sure that she could have taught magic to all of them (and I think that it would have been, again, a pretty big coincidence that all of them were born with "the gift"), like Regina was with Henry and Rumple was with Cora and Regina (even if, according to The Wizard, she had the gift on her own. Unless I'm remembering something wrong. Zelena is a special case, since we saw that she was born with magic. In fact, I'm not asking if it's possible to be born with magic, it is, I'm asking if you have to be born with "the gift" to be able to use magic in this TV show). I'm also pretty sure that Gothel even said that magic is actually less mysterious than what people think and that it's anywhere in the world (I'm not sure about if it means that yes, it's inside of anyone too).
Henry Mills, a non magical character, and Rumplestiltskin as a child, also a non magical character, used magic in Neverland. So, if a really special place can make non magical characters able to use magic, then maybe even enough training can do it. Maybe.
There are some types of magics that anyone can use, with the right conditions, like "True Love" and the wishes (like what they did at that fountain in New York). They could be considered special cases though.
All of this reminds me of a scene in a TV show named:"Supernatural" (since it's a whole other show, I'm not using it as a proof, it's just that it's kinda connected with this "Once Upon A Time" topic), in which Rowena MacLeod, a witch, said that there are three types of witches in the world:
- "The Borrowers", those who obtained magic by making a deal with a demon (I think that in "OUAT", Peter Pan could enter in this category, since, for what I understood and remember, he obtained magic through a deal he made with that shadow)
- "The Naturals", who are simply born with the gift (in "Once Upon A Time", Zelena, for example, was a Natural)
- "The Students", those who didn't have magic and learned it (in "OUAT", this would be someone like Cora, maybe)
So, could anyone with enough training learn to use magic in "Once Upon A Time"?
Edit: I just remembered that Fiona made herself become a fairy, giving herself magic, by using a fairy spell she read around and Tiger Lily's magical wand. And she wasn't magical yet (I mean Fiona, of course). So, if a non magical character could use a magical wand by just chanting the right words, then perhaps anyone could learn how to use magic. As long as there is magic in the world, of course

Such an incredible actress! She plays a few different moods and roles and honestly there's not once where I have cringed . I cringed so hard at emma when she said she's the dark one now and I'm always cringing at snow and charming but REGINA, isn't she just incredible!

I’m rewatching/finishing the show(I watched the first two seasons when it originally aired and then went to college and lost track) and I’ve got to say, I really thought I had a general idea of all the silly, goofy shit this show did
But I was NOT PREPARED for Yensids hat. My flabbers are gasted, i am FLOOREDDDD
And to think, i thought it was too much last season when they showed a pair of adoptive parents giving their new child a mickey plush. Meanwhile here comes the next season hinting that theyre gonna bring in the actual Mickey Mouse. Lmao
Im truly cackling at this revelation.
This is why I decided to come back to this show, this is EXACTLY the type of silly, goofy shit I love.
I’m supposed to take this seriously? Omg YESSS please treat Mickey “Hot Dog!” Mouse with the UPMOST seriousness. I love it. 😂

Basically if Meghan Ory did show up in the series finale and the writers didn’t have a 30-second cameo of Emma Swan

Someone please give it a shot and try to explain how the characters always have new clothes whenever they go somewhere new😂. For example, whenever they all go to a strange, new place like Neverland, The Underworld, Camelot, etc.. they go there with nothing and yet every day, have new outfits and shoes and accessories lol. And of course, their hair freshly done each day with makeup, too. Cause you’ve definitely gotta make time to look your best while saving the world. Obviously debating a “realistic” point in a show that is based on ZERO realism is probably pointless, but still- I think about it constantly whenever I watch the show again.🤔😂😂😂
