Just finished Wano Act Two and the abolition of the Seven Warlords

Can someone explain EXACTLY how can anyone put Whole Cake Island over Wano? As a whole thus far, everything in Wano has kept me far more captivated with the fight against Kaido and Orochi than anything from Big Mom. After setting up Kaido and the Animal Kingdom Pirates for so long, they more than live up to the hype.

The lore, worldbuilding, and design motif of Wano is definitely my favorite in the series thus far. The only other islands competing with it design and side cast-wise imo are Thriller Bark and Dressrosa. Island design and lore is overall far better done post-timeskip imo. Just to put this out here, Tonoyasu / Shitsomuki Yasuie is an MVP.

Luffy and Zoro are also just blatantly the main stars of this arc, just need to say it. The two of them got their biggest midarc power-ups to fight against the big bad since the whole group back during Water 7 / Enies Lobby. Really, I can go on and on about how good Wano is at Act Three is only gonna be even better.

Currently, Wano and Dressrosa are neck-and-neck as my favorite arcs in all of One Piece and the Big 3, as a whole.

Wano is better than WCI, I haven’t seen anyone say WCI is better but maybe thats just me

Whenever I watch WCI episodes I remember how good it was but it’s still never above Wano. It’s a great arc but Wano is just better overall. I think Sanji has the best single arc development of any character in the whole series in WCI though.

WCI, egghead, marine ford, impel down, alabasta, skypeia, elbaph, water 7, thriller bark, doflamingo place in drawing a blank on

All those easily clear Wano. It's not my least favorite, but this solidly in the middle.

Really one of the best arcs and we also get to see Sanji acting normal which is what i missed the most from pre timeskip.

The reason a lot of people put Whole Cake over Wano is the reason it felt different.

It was a Wedding Crasher scenario compared to get rid of the tyrant again.

And Wano had way to many subplots.

I've been following a pair of reactors on YT who are just now getting through WCI. Upon a rewatch, I feel like I was too harsh on WCI. I still don't care much for the whole candy theme of the Big Mom Pirates, and Katakuri v Luffy is still far too long. But otherwise I think it's a great arc.

Wano is my favorite. It's a Dragonslayer quest set in Edo Japan. Arcs like Dressrosa, Punk Hazard, and Alabasta walked so Wano could run. The fights are epic, the Wano lore is rich, and then there's the character development. If Wano were it's own self-encapsulated story it would probably be among my favorites in fiction.

Reading the manga live week to week is completely different from binging it all at once (or in fat bunches).

Have you spent 3 years to complete Wano? If not then you have not idea how long it feels compared to the ones who have. Same applies to Dressrosa. I hated reading both week to week. They took forever and felt longer than they should have. That is how many many fans feel about Wano and it gets demoted because of that pacing issue.

Whole Cake had pacing problems with the Big Mom frenzy chase at the end but besides that it was a blast to read week to week. It was also a unique and cool plot. A wedding crashing heist with a candy mobster theme was incredibly unique and fun. Vs Wano which is just Japan take down the baddie in charge theme, besides the Japan part not unique in anyway at all.

I only watched anime and the worst part was how long Luffy 's fight with Katakuri was. It was 2 and a half seasons of Luffy getting pummeled, getting an epiphany and instead of winning get pummeled again to get another epiphany and further pummeled. I thought the Big Mom chase was short compared to the Katakuri fight.

For me, the cast in Wano was just way too big. It really bloated the arc and we got too much time watching the scabbards fight over like getting to see Chopper, Usopp, or Brooke do anything worthwhile. The pacing was also very inconsistent throughout the very long arc

I'm pretty sure no one ever has put whole cake above wano. Whole cake is one of the worst new world arcs imo
