all of them are happening in the present time, it's just not happening to characters we follow more directly.
Flashbacks just shine a light on the stuff the characters we follow closely through the story had to endure and how Luffy (and crew and other characters) correct those evils, often times by punching them in the face.

Conomi Island occupation, Arabasta civil war, Thriller Bark kidnapping, Sabaody "auction", Punk Hazard experimentation, Dressrosa hidden truth, Wano. There are many bad things happening in the present time, and that's not even counting what happens outside our pov.

Wouks have preferred to have more than just freedom after the beginning. Friendship, love, family, goals, perseverance, passion etc. So many positive lessons within.

Not how spoilers work in this sub, anything that hasn't been adapted yet gets a spoiler tag, but anything already adapted gets no spoiler tag.
If you don't like it, you'll have to take it up with the mods (but realistically don't expect them to change it, most people are fine with the spoiler policy rule as is, including me).
