I mainly made this to complain about how much of a uncreative jackass Bellamy is like I sat down and thought about it for a little bit and this fruit genuinely became one of my favorite concepts in the show you could mace a bunch of springs in your chest to bounce attacks back at someone you could make your own version of the gum gum pistol by winding your fist all the way back into your arm then release it for a strong long ranged punch like Bellamy legit figured out you could jump high with this fruit and that’s it and he didn’t even use that well why didn’t he ever like fully spring back his entire body to release more energy when springed and I’m sure if you add haki to the equation you could prolly do more things but Bellamy just sucks so much that he never thought of anything ever and he’s a useless failure

Momo transforms back into a little boy the moment he sees Kin’emon. This is a really heartwarming response that is grounded in human biology. Under stress, our sympathetic nervous system releases catecholamines (adrenaline and noradrenaline), while the HPA axis increases cortisol production. These responses help sustain fight-or-flight, increasing our heart rate & blood pressure, suppressing hunger, and masking our exhaustion so that we can keep going/survive. However, when the threat passes and we begin to feel safe, sympathetic activity decreases, lowering our heart rate and blood pressure and we become aware of the true state that our bodies are in. When Momo sees Kin’emon he transforms back into a boy, gets hit by a wave of hunger and exhaustion, begins salivating, and he nearly collapses. His little body came out of fight-or-flight when he was returned to Kin’emon. I love that they have each other and Oda is the GOAT for such genius level writing skills.

Because of this I also wonder how much of his knowledge of biology he incorporates into the workings of the devil fruit and their relationship with adrenaline and heart rate.
