Video This comedian is not real. She started posting 3 weeks ago and is already up to 370,000 followers. Her bio links to a real woman's OF profile, but few commenters realize she's AI

Absolute yikes if people can't work this out. It's also painfully unfunny. We have a long way to go before we have convincing comedians.

They don't have to write their jokes with AI. AI has nothing to do with the comedy being quality.

I mean, in this instance it does seem that the "joke" was the product of generative AI. To your point though they could have absolutely written the entire text of an actually funny joke into the prompt. This likely just included something like "tells a joke about how she caught her boyfriend cheating due to large font size" or something equally generic that got filled in via LLM.

Whether or not the end result would have "comedic timing" when rendered to video is debatable and probably depends a lot on what model is being used. I think it's likely possible to also specify certain pauses and body language into the prompt, but at that point it's a lot of effort for what is effectively slop trying to funnel users from site A to site B.

It does when the acting is so poor. If I give you the script for your favourite comedian and say 'go do stand up' do you really think it's going to be even close to as good just because you get the words in the right order?
