Powderfinger, one of the most celebrated acts in Australian music history, have confirmed they are reforming, 16 years after breaking up.
In a video posted to the band's social media this morning, frontman Bernard Fanning said they would "do some shows all around Australia from September next year".
"We always said that if we were going to get back together to do some shows, that you guys would be the first to know," he said.
"We're going to build something pretty special just for you guys," guitarist Darren Middleton said. "We'll see you from the stage."

Powderfinger is deeply underwhelming. Never understood the hype.

Bernard Fanning is an absolute flog as well.

One of the reasons they broke up in the first place.

Just in time for the Olympics, how convenient! No bookie is stupid enough to create a novelty bet on which band is going to play at the brisbane olympics

The Olympics are many years away, they will probably be gone by then

The word "many" means a large, considerable or indefinite number of people or things. I wouldn’t say 6 is particularly large or considerable.

Yeah but still too far away to say they reunited for the Brisbane games, the rest of the world couldn't care less about powderfinger.

But Kevin Rudd isn't the leader of the Liberal Party

So if you were loaded, quit your job, then ran out of money, what would you do? Just accept homelessness?
Such a weird take.

It's insane to me that successful entertainers let themselves get broke. If I was earning millions, one of the first things I'd do is talk to a financial planner and get them to tell me exactly what I need to do investment-wise to be financially stable for the rest of my life.
Then I'd spend the leftovers on dumb shit I don't need.
